The thing is, the number 666 can be calculated (with some kind of hebrew system) to be Emperor Nero which has been the most "beastly" emperor throughout the time.

666 can also be Hitler with the same calculations

It's called Numerology. I think it works like this :

You start with a name, like Hitler, say.
You substitute the number in the alphabet for each number (so a=1, b=2 etc) - 892012518.
Then add each adjacent number together, and write down the answer, dropping any leading digits if you get a 2 digit number (8+9=17, so write down 7) - 71213769.
Repeat the process til you get something 'significant' - 8334935, 167328, 73050, 0355, 380, 18

OK, so there isn't anything significant there, so try again with Adolf Hitler, or find his middle name and use that, keep trying with different combinations until you find one that 'works'.

I've always found it rather silly, a sort of search for superstition in numbers. The fact that you continually throw out the most significant digit is always amusing to me.

No, I do indeed believe Jesus lived, I just don't believe he was the son of god.

I believe he was a mere human like ourselves, but he made an impression which is hard to whipe out (no magic or godly behaviour), so through the years the tails of Jesus has been greatly exaggerated just like folklore and in the end he turned out to be "the son of god".

I'm not religious or anything, but that's what I believe.

I do not think god exists neither, I'm more a believer that the world was created by protons, neutrons or whatever ;p

The Church of Satan don't believe in the same sort of Satan as the Christians, they don't see Satan as the root of all evil, as in Christian mythology, but a force that opposes the blind following of dogma and authority. The only people who really believe in Satan as the "Beast" are Christians, and they don't worship him, the Church of Satan is closer (while not actually being part of) Paganism, so don't follow any of the Christian beliefs about Satan

Btw, I've never heard of 666 being substituted to Nero. What I read is, that if you take the latin description of the popes title and take out the roman numbers and read them as roman number, you get to 666 (Vicarius filii dei ?? spelling?)
