2 clients on 1 PC after 1.69

Unable to launch 2 daoc on 1 pc after the patch

tried to reinstall drivers etc., nothing helped... even tried /clientsleep command found on the camelotherald... any1 had the same problem and/or know how to solve it plz?

<edit> /clientsleep will be introduced in 1.70.... does it mean i am unable to launch my bb in pve till then? :twak:

Having same Problem can get Both up running then around 1/2 hr 1 will just Freeze and Message Prompting me to send an error had occured send to Microsoft

Never had this Problem Before in running both and believe the Patch Mythic gave is for 1.70.

I remember reading a couple (several to be more precise) threads on the vnboards that 1.69 brought problems with duallogging clients. There were a lot of comments and people suggesting what to do to remove the problems.

It all ended out in some people having something work, which didn't work at all at other people's computers even though running almost same specs and someone else having something else working etc osv.

Guess we need 1.70 to be able to duallog reliably once again. :twak:

works perfectly for me, no problems here. Try logging on both accounts at the same time.

I think /clientsleep isnt introduced until version 1.70 afaik
Usually I only get second account on for 5 mins then LD.
Normally I had probs running 2 ToA clients, so I used 1 ToA (I love /quiver)
and 1 SI client.
Now even 2 SI clients cause probs.

mm same here, could duallog toa acc's w/ high fps prepatch, after patch duallogging SIclients is unplayable, give solution mates, tested running in diff compability, changed prioritys back and forth, new drivers / cpu/gpu fans(they were getting old anyways ;(), nothing works

specs r p4 2.4, 1gig ddr-ram, some shitty ATI card(biggest mistake ever) 2x ibm hd's (second biggest)XD, and ofc w2k(<3)

Got 3ghz p4, 1024 duel channel ddr rams, Asus p4800deluxe motherboard (godly) runs 100% smooth for me with 2 toa accs. Only thing i wodere about, is whyy they made the funyn msg when u try to log on 2. acc, about 2 clients at same time aint safe/supported by goa/mythic :flame:

xp2000+, 512mb sdram, geforce2pro, win2k
and it lags like hell :< getting 3-5 sec spikes every 5-10 secs, totally unplayable...
and this worked fine before 1.69 :/

I'm getting the same problem. This is the flipside of the 'bot going ld' problem where the background account doesn't get enough cpu. In this case the background account is somnetimes taking all the foreground account's cpu. I presume I get this because I always set both Game.dlls to Low Priority. This fixed the problem I first had using 2 accounts (pre 1.69) which was my bot going ld or losing stick.

I presume you do the same trick or something similar and those with the ld issue do not.

Anyway going to try this tonight :-

Then just double click follow when you need it, and when you do not need to be /stuck and just want 1 acct running smooth double click normal.

having some problems too.. it runs smooth, but sometimes bot account just goes ld for no reason. Had some problems the last month running stuck but never had any ld problems for just 1 sccount

anyone got a solution to this...? except from 1.70 etc
kinda sucks.... just resubbed 2nd account and cant play it.
installed new gfx and motherboard drivers/chipset drivers for no use
and I run ToA client on mainacc and SI client 800*600 everything on low etc on 2nd acc

Apart from reg hack its possible to
launch buffbot using SI client (if you're rvring) or use toa windowed mode in low (800x600) resolution for both clients - if you're in toa.

Have you tried different values ?

Some people swear by 31 or 30. Some use 26. It varies hugely from client to client apparently.

I have no problems with 2 accounts, but I have a hyperthreaded machine and I know a friend who has a dual machine also has no problems. I think this is an issue with 2 accounts on a machine with only one processor.

I know it doesn't help people but its some more information. Hyperthreaded4teh win. Actually my machine now funs the game about 30% quicker than it did before with both accounts

the reg tweak is realtime, double clicking the files will cause the OS to allocate different amounts of time per process in terms of CPU cycles and memory operations

2 Accounts work fine for me on my Athlon Xp 2000+ 512Mb DDR Geforce 4 Ti 4400 and windows xp...I had the feeling that it even did work better than before 1.69 . Tho I'm getting ld most of the time when I try to alt-tab between accounts for the first time but when I log the ld'ed account back in everything works smooth. I can't stick my chars tho as 1 will lag behind, couldnt stick before 1.69 either...Think I got a bit low memory, need 1 gig at least.

Aye ive noticed an increased lagg.....i can run 2 accs easily enough i can cast spells (with my necro) fine on the main acc but as soon as the mob gets into melle range fps goes out the window and becomes v jerky.

Will keep an eye on this thread for solutions

I could run 2 accounts just fine when i had the priorities set to normal, but got problems when i set them to low(which i have to when i'm running around with my bot /stuck so it wont fall behind).
Both accounts would lag/freeze and sometimes LD.

I tried the regedit thing, but it didn't work for me.
Had a look on VN and found this:

Both my PC's of similar specs to most of the above (mid end) havent suffered from the patch at all. Not sure why this is perhaps just lucky hardware/software combos.

If anything ive found ToA to be less laggy on the whole whilst dual logging.
