Well, it is Off-Topic and its ALL about ME! :D

Finally, no more 7 sec free stun for albs or hibs on excalibur when I arrives, I am finally getting a new computer :)

My old computer hated RvR and always gave me either a Reboot or hell of alot lagg :( (Really could'nt handle 1fg at all without MASSIVE lagg :()

Old: 850 mhz AMD Duron, GeForce 4 128DDR, 512 SD-RAM etc.

New: AMD XP2500+ 1.833 GHz, 512 DDR-Ram, (old graphic card) :D

Can't wait, building it myself (might aswell start saving for a store bought cause that will go straight to hell:p)

Warning! Make sure your RAM is set to 333 speed, or you will get frequent crashes if you set it higher than that!
(That is unless you overclock your processor).

I know, but I used to use that as an excuse for being the first one down, but I still got the old one "wtf, I had 6 fecking tanks on me, oww I hate being Troll :(" It will work even tho I be getting a new comp I think :p

my radeon HATES daoc. especially buildings, get like 2 fps i mid SI starter town.


i get better fps in swg on semi-high settings than daoc ;////

I dont get lag, unless there's problems with the GOA servers.
However, I have Broadband, which makes a big difference.
Anyway, DAOC is pretty old even considering SI, so it doesn't push my system at all.
A better way of testing a system is playing UT2003 with full setting at at least a 1600X1200 Screensize and my PC still flies.

Anyway, I have a geoforce ti4200 128mb RAM, overclocked to same speed as a ti4400. And it runs just fine.
I won't be upgrading my vid card until around December.

I already did, 2001 and 2003 version.

I did very well on the 2001, not so well on the 2003 version as it uses DX9, which my card doesn't support.

I got ADSL (no flaming pls :p)

384 kbps connection, should work...

And for the GeForce cards :( GIVF a card that supports DX9 :(

Get a mobo with onboard gf4 MX and live with that for a few months until nVidia get their asses in gear and/or Radeons 9800's come down in price.
edit: (sorry, didn't really notice you already had a gf4 - just keep that until, etc, etc, instead of getting a gf4 mx ;)

Btw, What I meant to say about (no flaming) was dont flame me cause people usually thinks ADSL sux...

But for the Barton part sux, not in the opinion of pro's :p

I'd basically agree with that.
I.E. Top end computing, pay lots more for a top end P4 and it'll outstrip the AMD counterparts ATM.
That MAY change when the AMD Clawhammer (64 bit processors)comes out later this year. But time will tell.

Anything below TOPEND and you're willing to Overclock/tweak your settings and you're better off with AMD performance wise and moneywise.

And yeah, Geoforce MX cards suck bigtime.

Wow, looking at that Article and the performance of the Barton 2500 vs the p4 2.4, the difference is minimal and that's not even overclocked.

An Overclocked Barton 2500 would kick the ass of a similar rated P4 and even greater, actually, for a well priced system, the AMD barton 2500 is a GREAT buy, even more than I thought.

And now im using my new homemade computer :p

Its running smooth, havent tested DAoC yet, has to figure out the sound, I cant hear any sound :uhoh:
