Microsoft buys Fallout creator Bethesda for $7.5bn

Xbox's owner confirms it has bought the game developer ahead of the launch of the new Xbox console.

That is a lot of IP and studios. Great move just before pre-order day.

Apparently they are honouring a couple of PS5 timed exclusives but who knows further down the line. afaik they are working on the next Elder Scrolls and have been for a few years too so that could end up being an Xbox/PC exclusive. Then there is that new IP, Starfield that we know very little about.

Suits me either way as I will have a PS5 and a PC

Phil has said it will be on a case by case basis. Didn't pre-order the PS5, tempted to do the XBox. That gamepass is looking better and better all the time.

Can't remember where I read this, but the fact PS5 users will see the Microsoft logo when they turn the game on is funny.

Please let this mean Todd Howard will go away.... It would be really interesting to buy a Fallout/Elder Scrolls game and not have it be more or less unplayable for the first 4 to 6 months....
