Windows Server 2003 and DAOC!?!?!

For my final year project I've had to format one of my machines and install Windows Server 2003.

I was still hoping I could run DAoC on it, but unfortunately at the moment this isn't the case.

When trying to load DAoC (still sitting on my HDD from when I had XP installed) I get this error message

Renderer Creation Failed!

I've installed latest directx, latest drivers, deleted my user.dat file and nothing seem to have helped me even get to the character selection screen.

I had a look on the American support and it says Server 2003 isn't supported. Does this mean it plain doesn't work and I should give up? Or is it that they just won't help with any problems?

Is it worth deleting and installing again?

Cheers for any help anyone can be

Windows 2003 Isnt designed to Run Games in any form.. its a Server O/S but that doesnt mean it wont run it just means they are not supported, the only things I can sergest are the following

Install the latest Video Drivers,
Reinstall Direct X 9c

I will have a look at my Webserver l8er and see in I can run DAOC on it and let you know.. but I think iv tryed b4 and had similuar probelms.

right-click desktop and click properties, then go to the settings tab, click advanced, go to troubleshoot tab and turn "Hardware acceleration" up to full. Running Server 2003 on this and it runs DAoC fine.

Yea using an AMD XP2400+, but get quite a bit of lag with 2 accounts (was pretty much fine before 1.69 tho) - havent used xp on this PC but would imagine it wouldnt be much different than 2k3, if you've got less than 1gb ram it might be worth trying out windows 98SE (it doesnt like more than 1gb for some reason) as it seems to handle the scheduling of CPU time better.

Athlon 2800+ Barton, 1.5Gb DDR 333, Radeon 9800, 2 x 120Gb HDD.
Dont think its hardware (or lack of) more shitty mythic coding coupled with XP's priority system. Win98 SE has all sorts of problems with networking, i was considering downgrading to Win2k or possibly W2k Server. Server software is designed to run multiple sessions of software so was wondering if it made a diff thats all :)

I will try VmWare at some point when i have time and see if i can dual run that way :)

So its AMD's fault mythic cant code properly?
Never had any problems whatsoever with AMD's except with Daoc in the newer patch.
