I log in maybe twice/once a week,(taking a bit of a break/half break) to set skill/orders, and have played for quite some time again(had a long break before when i didn't even have an account active).

Who i am is something i like to keep to myself though, it's a whole dirrefent place and a retreat from this here world.

Tempted to get this game.

What is the newbie part of the game like? Is it easy to pick up or does it require daysp) of play?

mine, mine and more mining. or, low payout missions through low security space wich will include losing everything u have put in your ship unless u pay the ransom to whatever pirate corp thats holding whatever bottleneck system u happen to need to pass, wich will probably blow you up anyway.

as for training. dont expect to be anywhere close to pvp ready for atleast a year. no matter what ppl say. running around as a newbie in a T2 frig no matter how well equipped, wont be enough.

tho, running around in a DPS omen IS love getting close and personal with battlecruisers/assault cruisers and just pwn them to bits xD

for some reason they get offended getting pwnt by a T1 cruiser *giggle*

but anyway, its a bloody HUGE learning curve in this game. as in, IF u screw up you WILL lose a crapload of cash when your ship blows up.

yes, if you spend everything you have on a ship and then lose it. u will be back mining crap asteroids to get more cash.

some clarification on how risky this game actually *is*.

my very first battleship i lost was a scorpion with stuff worth about 250 million + ship. now, this isnt THAT much by todays standard, but a few years ago? that was about 5 months worth of mining


one WILL cry blood over this game if you hate to lose. just because there's so MUCH to lose

Not sure I'll classify them as a pirate corp.

The 1.0 thingy was done by Tank CEO and me on Molly on our own when one Battleship could take out someone in 1.0 and get away from Concord and then later by the Zombie corp in Yulai with some massive tanking (drunkenmaster recorded it).

Tank and me got warned for it with some bullshit excuses from the GM side, the officials also didn't like the Yulai-accident and reimbursed Zombie's victims.

Think you're mixing something up with m0o and 1.0, at the start of the game they were killing in Mara/Passari, which were not 1.0 systems. Those two systems got beefed up in security at some point and Pann, the first community manager wanted to ban them all. Luckily she got fired early in the game as she had no clue.

I am with Manisch the distinction between Pirate and killer corp has been eroded a bit. Pirates play for cash. Killers kill in whatever way possible. The latter are infinitely more aggressvie than pirates. I think 'Outbreak' are a good example of a killer corp - some of them do ransom but in the main they just go around killing stuff because its fun.

There were several accidents with m0o, like Ywev podding a GM, m0o being teleported out by devs, m0o being hunted by spawned Concord (who were GMs playing GM) and so on, but it wasn't in 1.0. Can tell you for sure it was Zombie and before Tank CEO and me.

I don't think anyone from m0o got banned for good, they got maybe some warnings for exploiting damage modifier stacking but that's it.

Ssh, don't tell me, I made a 14 days trial :O. I might do a comeback exactly 4 years after the self-destruction of my very first Megathron . They seem not to like TWD and Vegeta too, so maybe I'll apply.

I miss those times where one would fly to a belt and find an AFK Scorpion and shoot it down or duel with 20 heavy drones of a Dominix with a tanked Claw (pre drones nerf).

can't say i'm terribly sad for Ywev. podding a GM is probably the most retarded thing anyone can think of. and to start to bitch about it when they want the corpse back is just even more so... >.<

drone nerf? drones ALONE can kill just about anything nowadays if u have enough SP's in them theres i dunno how many diffrent skills and drone types out there now

i dare you to try and duel a drone carriers drones hehe they have no problems taking down a battleship more or less all by them self

I know the drones have undergone several changes. At one point, heavy drones would not be able to shoot at frigates at all. So kind of nerf, had to use lights/meds. But I thinks it's changed now again.

Why retarded? Was a class act, they deserved way more spanking back then. When the game started, they really had no clue, the devs had, but GMs were new and not trained, they would bullshit you with a lot of things and affect your way of playing way too much.

I filed a lot of bug reports for getting sec hits in 0.0. So they told me it's my business to find out where I get them in 0.0 and where not and not bugs. Since it was a Concord related security system I went out to kill Concord in 0.5-1.0, for that I got warned even though one GM told me to try it.

I hope it changed for the better now with the GM quality.

The Drake is one nice ship - the resist bonuses are crazy. I also had a Myrmidon - boy it was sexy I took it out to a COSMOS mission on its maiden journey and she got fried.

you will never find something equal in skill in EvE pvp. well u might, but almost everyone have 10 -20 - 30+ million skillpoints invested in their toons nowadays. and 9 times out of 10 if u find a T1 frig to pvp against its one of those ppl. he just have the T1 to lure new ppl to fight him.

could give almost anything that wasn't a blaster monster or a battleship a run for their money

had a NOS brutix to that was kinda fun but it was generally to slow to tank in solo
