started the first week of retail with a troll berzerker, because I thought it cool to wield 2 weapons.
made it to 16, then I changed to a healer which was my first serious char :)

I made a ns first. Then I got told how difficult they were to level, so at around level 9 I made a chanter (light spec). That was my first serious character. The server I played on was hib/exc.

Friar on Pryd, didnt have a clue how to play, had no understanding of the enhance line.

Kept dying to blue cons so I gave up at level 9 and rolled and armsman and learned the game with him. Then went back to the friar later :)

Had never heard of DAoC until it was going into retail. Made a Norse thane (+5 int)

Norse Zerk, got it to lvl 8, started healer, lvl 12 then people nagged me for hitting mob instead of heal ^^
Deleted zerk, started warrior, played it til 32, started my zerk (Kinag) cause I liked the way you wielded 2 weapons and suddenly turned into a bear :p
Warrior deleted at 35 (axe and parry spec :( ), I got bored cause he was the ultimate gimp.
My zerker got perfect imho :p

So thats it.. try being more of a noob than I was at the beginning of DAoC :p

Ha, long time since I've seen a fun thread on BW :).

My first char was Lorthania, made her almost a year ago. I wanted a char that could hit hard and have some additional bonuses on top. Two RL friends who had been in the game for a long time advised me to make a Friar and I haven't regretted that choice: hits, buffs, heals - it's got it all :).

I did make some alts in the meantime, but my Friar still is my favourite, although I'd like to see it hitting 50 soon :).

My fist character was a dwarf warrior (Terror), the eye patched one, just for his crazy look haha, speced in axe, no shield, LMA, totally gimped, we were much in Muspelheim, for the mystical feeling and we ran around much in vanern swamp, those were the days:)

Made a norseman warrior in beta and got to lvl 15 with im.

In retail I made norse warrior again with 2h axe cause I thought it looked cool :) Later on though I started a runie instead because I thought warriors were dull as hell :)

Got daoc first week of retail.
Got 3 options..hmmz Midgard sounded most rpg to me.
Then made a Norse warrior.
Reason i wanted to explore and actuly do quests and stuff,
tought that would be easier with a dmg dealer with good hp.
And wanned a change as i always played magician in D&D AD&D and most rpgs on pc.

Ok, I started on Day 1 of release... Decided to make an armsman as they would most probably be the purest fighter out there!
Played him for like 1year gaining respect from my enemy realm combatants and i tried to solo alot in RvR if any of u old school can remember me! ;P <allways took me helmet of to bow to u>
<Gladiator>

Then i thought id make a Sorcerer as there were hardly any sorcerers in albion! As soon as i got mine to 50 the whole realm had a sorcerer alt lol! <Blizard>

Now i have a Scout who is atm causing havoc but i will not tell you his name as i would like to keep that quiet for now! ^^

I am now slowly getting Gladi back to the full front line of battle again if some of u have seen me about already :)

Anyway... Long live Albion!

In beta, I made am enchantment specced Enchanter, got him to lvl 12 (god knows how - I had no idea about the con system, so spent most of the time either owning grey mobs round Mag Mell or dying to purples!), got bored, rolled a Ranger, got bored, rolled a Zerker, had more fun but wanted to play in Hib, so rolled a BM, but only got him to 6 before the server was wiped for retail. When the game went retail, my first character was a Champion :)

Made a merc called TomBombadil (didnt know you could have surnames).
He struggled through Mithra to lvl 13 before seeing a Fire wizard... needless to say i rolled one, and loved it :)

Sometime near the beginning of retail my first char was a Briton mincer. I was expecting him to be the same sort of overpowered MOB farmer that I'd been used to in UO. When I found that he wasn't I made my first serious character. A Friar.

my first char was a norseman skald, i played her all the way to 42 without getting bored, but H and lair knocked me out, so i made a healer. Both chars are now my only lvl 50 chars and i play them both on a regular basis. Though in between i added a Shadowblade who is now a legendary fletcher, and still not lvl 50 ;)

My first ever character was Vieralt the shaman in beta, my first character in release was Vieralt the shaman. I'm still playing him now :)

I've just realised how boring I am.

> what did u make. and why

Was middle of beta when I joined. Game had been up in US for several months so I did some research, norse hunters were supposed to be rather good, so my 1st char was a hunter named Lembitu. Took him to lvl 7 or so, then got pissed with how he wasnt all that good for levelling. Made a skald instead and got him to 35 by the end of beta.

Ahhh, the memories! :)

I read about DAoC on stratics when it came out in the US, almost bought an account on there but managed to resist the urge till the UK beta started. Entered the public beta late on and created my very first char... a earth specced theug! Heard stories of ppl soloing orange con mobs with ease!! Just by spamming these little earth pets! :p

Anyway, got to the dizzy heights of lvl11 and the game went gold. So day 1 of UK DAoC I did a little research and decided I wanted something a little different to the favoured classes and went with the minstrel. ;)

And so Beck was born! I dont have any other high lvl chars as when I get time to play I want to have fun rather than grind! :p After several breaks from playing and trying SWG, I now find myself in Hong Kong of all places for a while! Anyway, Ive just got my 6meg connection sorted out over here so I will be back with a vengeance if the servers ever come back up lol. Although being 8 hours in front of GMT is a bit annoying! :(

Always good to see ppl in game I knocked about with as a boy! :p /wave .... gladiator, vestax, baritone, maxer and far too many others to list here.

Nice post ... makes a change ...

I made an Armsman, you may ask why?

Well, didn't we all want to be Knights in shining armour at one time in our life? ;)

He is still my "main", though I have other guys I play now, and play on all three realms (I am not one of these realm bigots). When I finally leave the game I would like to have played all three realms properly.

I made a skald too on Prydwen as Vikings always fascinated me, I did want a Thane but could not find the trainer at level 5, so decided that as the Skald trainer was easier to find I would be a skald!

As for points, well I think I was lucky as an Armsman is pretty simple to spec, no silly pole arms and stuff, Armsmen have a sword and shield, and slash for goodness sake! ;)

I have deleted so many characters through time, and lost some really nice names as a result, but I think that's the game for me, I am not obsessed with being RR10 or anything, but playing different classes on different realms (though that's damn hard on Pryd/Hibby where the choice is caster and caster support only).

I made an armsman first of all.
Always found that the basic fighter types were the best way to learn a new game as they are relatively uncomplicated.
Also with my background in AD&D, I went 2-Handed :)

Can we say GIMP?

comming from D2 i decided a scout would be good fun so i made Windforce and at level 9 i managed to find out how to use my bow (2 days /played by then, wonder why)

after that i made Sloerie mcSlet, an armsbabe. She got namenerfed to Slo (initially to Slemrie mcSlan, the horror......)
