Slightly OT but technical forum tends to be empty. Can anyone recommend a decent i.e. reliable with good support and cheap web/email host in the UK?

Cant you use the ones that come with your ISP ? Nildram offer 100MB webspace which is more than enough for a guild site.
With broadband you could also host a web/mail server from home too with a static IP.
Failing that check out www.123reg.co.uk they offer the best deal ive found for name registration and also partner with someone for web/mail hosting, although ive never used it, just pulled this off their main site.
Starter:-

1500 MB data transfer (bandwidth) per month.
CGI/Perl Script enabled.
On-line file manager and full FTP access.
15 mail boxes (POP3).
Free WebMail.
Webalizer graphical web statistics (click to try).

www.34sp.com without question, have been a customer of a few of the ones mentioned above and their service is pants compared to 34sp

do your .co.uk domain for email (around 5 quid per year), and register for the free 25 megs for your screenshots and stuff. You can link the images to the forums without any trouble, and the servers are very reliable

They have a file storage option too, but I don't think there's any public web hosting.

I'm using Netfirms at the the moment. It's a tad expensive but perfect for a small business setup.

Signed up with Web-mania based on Galewyrs recommendation which GReaper has now seconded. Also signed up with 34SP having had a look at their site and service - Looks very good especially their forum and IRC help services as well as email.
