They cover up corruption by calling it lobbying rather than bribery.
As do we, despite our new lobbying "rules" - which, the way they were written, undermine the potential influence of real grassroots lobbying orgs.

In the states big companies create fake "grassroots" movements and fund them up the kazoo.

Yes we do but the scales are vastly different.

I doubt it. I think the laws the way they stand in america allow for more shit slinging without prosecution of individuals throwing that shit. Therefore more shit comes to light.

We're far from a real democracy.

In the US "campaign contributions" are a feature not a bug. They are uncapped and designed into the system. At least in the UK there is the pretense that theres a cap on all that shit.

Pretense is the thing that I don't like. At least in the US it's obvious (and the people could pick up their automatics and demand their representatives do something about it ;) )

In the UK it's all so damn opaque.

Fucking awful. The Kurds did a lot more to defeat ISIS than the US did and now trump is taking the credit and abandoning them to be slaughtered by Turkey. How can they ever expect to gain trust from anyone in the future?

Tbh I called this a long time ago, the Turks have been en mass arresting the families of Kurds who have been off fighting for a very long time anyway.

What I find bizzare is that Turkey has just said fuck you to America in favour of Russia, then they do this and the Americans are like yeah cool.

Also, I can see Turkey occupying larges amounts of Syrian territory for a very long time to help their economy more via slave labour.

Yes, but dodgy payments can be challenged and brought to the courts; in the US its complete regulatory capture and everyone is fine with it. At least we think it’s wrong...

Trump tax returns must be given to prosecutor, judge rules

Predictably, he's crying on Twitter about how mean everyone is and it's just not fair etc. Release your fucking tax returns like every other president for the last 60 years then. Oh wait he can't, there's either all sorts of incriminating bullshit in them or they paint a more realistic picture than he does of how wealthy he is and he's such a narcissist that coming clean is an unbearable though.

Just been reminded that the trump org has a lot of business interests in Turkey. I’m sure it’s all fine.

There will be a Kurdish genocide for sure.

There's no way the Turks will allow they many heavily armed troops on their border, no way.

So you don't think supporting the Kurds to defeat Isis then abandoning them because Turkey asked him to is a bad thing?

I know you don't care about other ethnic minorities, but it makes Trump look ridiculously weak and massively destroys any sense of trust and alliance with the US.

Do you think anyone understands the political tribal/minefield out there..do you believe your source who we should support?
One minute were bombing Assad and slating the Americans, then pretending the Russians are bad, then the Americans are good guys and the Kurds bad..then they are good, then Isis becomes Assads Syrian victims.
And now you believe the latest agenda ridden story.
The Kurds are terrorists to Turkey..its the old saying isnt it.
Just get the troops the fuckout, if this was Obama pulling the troops hed be a sensible hero.
You still are an audience at a pantomime booing the bad man music.

Sorry @Job but you're way off the mark here.

The Kurds are our allies. We're abandoning them to slaughter.

Pretty much the entire US (never mind international) security community has reacted, as one, with shock and disgust to the decision. Even Fox News don't know what to do with themselves.

Russians and Assad are targeting hospitals with bombs.

If they're the kinda people you like, then you're fucking scum, just because you want to defend your racist president demi God.

I think you misunderstand, Turkey has explicitly said leave America so we can attack the Kurds, America responded with 'OK'.

These are the guys that defeated the most evil organisation in the 21st century, we should be creating them a homeland, not allowing for their destruction.

Lets clarify your point about Kurds being Terrorists.

Youre supporting the theory that an entire ethnic minority are Terrorists.

Then again, I expect nothing less from racism scum that think all Muslims are Terrorists.

Mind, I can't wait for Job to be moaning about the huge influx of Kurds and questioning to why.
