Further to travel. Tired electrons. Is leccy more expensive if you live in remote areas?
It's down half the time. Hence me shelling out for a generator and a load of electric work - including about £1500 to the DNO to upgrade the transformer at the end of my lineI meant more I'd imagine @Scouse has got a bunch of infrastructure that's just for him, selfish bastard.

Needed to move the meter point (it was inside the house in a *really* stupid place that you'd literally walk into face-first when coming in a door) and when they surveyed the transformer was from the 1950's and not fit for purpose.I would have thought it'd work out in a way where you pay more if you're more remote, but then you get the infrastructure covered.
How come you've had to fork out to upgrade a transformer?
Who you with Dys?

I asked about 3-phase, but they quoted me £15k to swap out 1.2k of overhead cable to town. And fuck that![]()
Rapid electric car charging whilst still being able to run the rest of my house (cooking, water, appliances, PC's etc) on non gas-based heating.Out of interest, what use would you have for 3 phase?

Wait, what? How else do they transfer the glucose to the positrons?I know you're joking but the electrons don't actually travel anywhere.,
We got this from Shell a couple of days ago (forced onto them after Green went under)Your electricity was/is a little on the pricey side:
standing charge from 23.296p to 32.141p per day
unit rate from 20.763p to 29.632p per kWh
Meh - I hardly drive at the moment. Good excuse not to visit parents and in-lawsA petrol station near me told me this morning to expect fuel shortages.
My mpg has gone down by around 10% since this E10 stuff came in.
