I'm not sure what's more dumb though, those advertising posters, or the fact the US army sponsors sports teams etc

No it doesn't. It comes up with loads of other crap on twitter

For once the Twitter feed seemed fairly straightforward to me. This is the stand where the picture was seen (its at some public event)

And for reference this is the original.

Well yes I got that but still don't see why it's being seen as funny though....
As the guy says " ’m a Marine and I think it’s awesome! It reflects the old original it was based on and still looks squared away, plus the Marines love Japanese stuff. We’ve all been in or near Japan. "

So not sure it's intended to be something funny??

I meant more I'd imagine @Scouse has got a bunch of infrastructure that's just for him, selfish bastard.
It's down half the time. Hence me shelling out for a generator and a load of electric work - including about £1500 to the DNO to upgrade the transformer at the end of my line ;)

I would have thought it'd work out in a way where you pay more if you're more remote, but then you get the infrastructure covered.

How come you've had to fork out to upgrade a transformer?

Needed to move the meter point (it was inside the house in a *really* stupid place that you'd literally walk into face-first when coming in a door) and when they surveyed the transformer was from the 1950's and not fit for purpose.

I asked about 3-phase, but they quoted me £15k to swap out 1.2k of overhead cable to town. And fuck that :)

Out of interest, what use would you have for 3 phase?

Rapid electric car charging whilst still being able to run the rest of my house (cooking, water, appliances, PC's etc) on non gas-based heating.

Your electricity was/is a little on the pricey side:

standing charge from 23.296p to 32.141p per day
unit rate from 20.763p to 29.632p per kWh
We got this from Shell a couple of days ago (forced onto them after Green went under)

Your electricity rates will change from 20.772p to 29.632p per kWh and your standing charge per day will change from 23.30p to 32.14p. (both inclusive of 5% VAT)

A petrol station near me told me this morning to expect fuel shortages.

Less than 3000 miles since lock down began for me. I will sell my car for more than I paid for it, which is nice.

Ive had my car for 15 years. I think I have washed it 4 times.
I doubt it's worth anything at all.

I have to use the high octane stuff, only Shell and Tesco will do. For now, it's still E5

Both of mine get Momentum or other Super when possible - Civic gets about 6 or 7 more em to the gees when I use that rather than E10. Less of a consumption difference in the BMW, but it revs better and feels perkier on the proper stuff so it gets it too.
