In literature, film, or any other form, what is the greatest story ever told, in your opinion?

Mine, as you may have guessed, is the Lord of the Rings. However, my ambition is to somehow better this story, or die trying

The DragonLance story does it for me.

From the newer books based on Raistlin and Caramon's growing up and meeting the rest of the guys, through the Dragons of Autumn/Winter/Spring and the Twins books.

And the Dragons of Summer Flame through the new books that really do end the story.

Awesome story.

There is about 12 main books in total from the start of the companions meeting to the end of the story.

And what an ending it is

And then there is even more short stories and books based on other characters in the main story as well (Dalamar, Huma, The second generation)

Magician by Raymond Feist. Can still remember the enjoyment and complete engrossment I got from reading that book.


Best tale ever told, have to go with whoever mentioned the Bible earlier, it's been hooking em for 1000 years or more
