Kill Bill (Volume 1) in 4k. The 4k upscale is mid (It was filmed in 2k digital) but there are some improvements. The HDR on it though... That makes it so much better.

We're doing KB Vol 2 this week too, but from what I've heard it's significantly better grading. So that should be a fun, but long as fuck, watch.
I just wish they were better films. I still think Reservoir Dogs is his best film (very closely followed by Pulp Fiction). But after that he started to be increasingly self-indulgent - he wants to write cool dialogue rather than cool dialogue that serves the story and moves it along. Dialogue for dialogue's sake - and that's reflected in running times.

Hateful Eight could have been brilliant, but because of all the "look at me - aren't I clever!" baggage it just made me think "I'm looking, and you used to be clever, but now you're ruining your own films".

But still. They are fun and I'll be setting sail soon ;)

Waiting for Hateful Eight and Django Unchained to come out in native 4k - I want to buy the whole collection.

My son showed me the trailer to that today, all I kept saying was it looks like a cartoon.

I quite like the retro futuristic look. But tbh, I just can't be arsed with any of it any more.

Jurassic Yawn.

I guess I'm just too old for movies nowadays.

My wife was all excited the new trailer, then she reminded me that we hadn't seen Dominion either... and I had to double check. We had, it was just forgettable.

Gladiator 2.

Yeah, it's shit. Kept having to rewind, as I kept losing interest. Had to finish it in 2 sittings, only persevered, because I paid for it.

Even Denzel Washington is shit in it, I can't remember another role where he was shit, I am a massive fanboy.

I am going to have to watch the first one again, to try and cure my disappointment. It was so bad, it might ruin my week.

I watched both of them in one day, I thought the 2nd was decent enough. it's cool that they got to do stuff in the second one that Ridley Scott really really wanted to do in the first but couldn't because of budget or tech limitations - eg the rhino battle and flooding the Colosseum for the sea battle.

How odd, I finally got around to watching it last night as well. Yeah, it was crap, but my expectations for Ridley Scott "historical" (lol) movies are basically zero at this point, and Ridley Scott movies in general not much higher; The Martian was his last good movie, and House of Gucci the last that wasn't actually shit.

So then. James Bond is not just dead, but it's going to be run by the wokerati that gave us the new lord of the rings wankness:

It's fun that Barbara Brocolli has called Amazon idiots:
the Wall Street Journal reported that "the relationship relationship between the family that oversees the franchise and the e-commerce giant has all but collapsed".

The newspaper also claimed that Broccoli had privately described Amazon as "idiots".

I mean, the last film was wank anyway. James Bond - the touchy-feely family man.
