Yes, we pay our Pre School staff a bit over average for the sector, and it's still laughable. The problem there lies in the lack of direct funding and the limit at which the fees you have to set, offset the point in a parent even going to work and leaving a child with us. If it wasn't for the few £k of fundraising we do with events through the year, there wouldn't be a Pre School at all. Yet Pre Schools are more and more expected to be class -2 and -1 for the education system. It's certainly an area which could do with more attention.

In regards to nursery/school, I do think parents should have the choice to have one of them not working for their kids early years, as soon as they get to state school/nursery THEN they should be encouraged to find work.

I do too, I don't get why they need to send one to a pre-school or nursery. It keeps my wife in work but meh, its unnecessary.

I guess it starts social skills well, I suppose one negative side of what I just stated is if you don't let your kid fuck around with early kids at a young age, when they do get to school they'll be like lolwot other people my age?

I know some parents who are like that, which is equally as damaging as letting third parties look after your kids 9-6.

Pre School did my daughter the world of good. She did 4 days a week 9 - 2 I think, so not abandoned, but enough to enable her mum to keep her hand in at work and give daughter plenty of interaction with other kids. She was way more confident and extrovert than the other kids who didn't go to pre school when she arrived at primary. You could see a very marked difference between her contemporaries who went to preschool with her, and those cared for at home entirely, and it was very much in the pre schoolers favour.

So. Guy at work, brand new to contracting.

He started the same time as me and quickly came across as a bit of a whiny cunt - but I put that down to the fact that he'd been a permie all his life and all the perks he was used to (like people having to pretend to give a shit what he thinks, or care about his personal situation, or not be outright rude to him for any random reason they like) had evaporated - so I cut him a bit of slack. Tried to give him the low down on what the life was like and the definite no-no's of being a contractor (like expecting any of the above, telling someone outright that they're wrong (even if they are), complaining about shit too much etc. etc.).

I'm regretting that now. Aside from his rant about immigrants (in the canteen) a few weeks ago, last week he (loudly) told us that his missus' sister's gay and he fucking hates her, because she complains that gay people are put upon - and after all it's her own fault because she chose to be gay (and it's definitely a choice). And he thinks the same about whiny teachers too - they can always get another job doing something else if they don't like it.

If it wasn't a legal no-no I'm nailed-on sure he'd be openly racist.

Of course. He's a fucking UKIP voter...
I like him already ;)

According to you he does. I don't think anything anyone thinks should be illegal.

'Shoot him because he's black', should be illegal.
Possibly it is.

Oh come on, its what the left want. They don't want to or are unable/unequipped to counter UKIP and Co's argument so all they want to do is silence them by shouting louder.

Great argument! I can see that really swaying the vote on polling day! Congratulations on your excellent debating skills.

But seriously, thanks for proving my point...

Said it before - if we had true freedom of speech in this country instrad of a flavour of Anders 'shooty' Brevick's much-feared cultural marxism then UKIP members would be free to come out full-pelt with their loony racist views.

But as it's illegal to say racist things in this country the biggest tossers in the country now have a clever twat to rally behind - one who sets clearly racist policies but couches them in a way so as not to fall foul of race hate laws.

Free speech would let these loonies loose, so to speak, and even the witless would be able to see them for what they are.

really ? what do you want me to say ?

if they wrote their manifesto in crayon it wouldnt look any worse. "omg muslims did it " , "omg migrants did it", THERE IS ENOUGH RESEARCH AND PROOF THAT IT IS ALL SHIT.

either you choose to educate yourself, or you dont, its very simple. if you are an ignorant bigot then the truth doesnt factor into your decision making, so yea, if thats how you roll, vote UKIP, fill your boots.

What are you on about now? I am not going to vote UKIP, I think some of what they say is good but I certainly wouldn't trust them to run the country. The only good thing is that they are forcing the debate, its all good and well burying your head in the sand but there are problems with Europe, massive problems. I would sooner we stayed in Europe but not in its current form, its an undemocratic gravy train at the moment.

As for immigration, yes it is actually causing problems, population cannot grow at its current rate. We are short on housing, we are short on social care, we are short on school places, hospitals are struggling under the strain of a population growth that is out of control. Unfortunately for the left's argument, a large proportion of that growth is down to immigration.

It would be fine over a longer period of time but we cannot go on like the last 10 years.
