Every election I come to the same conclusion - this isn't really a choice, more a lack of options.

Labour - no, just no. Straight into the politics of envy this time round, Mr Milliband is pointing to things and taxing them. Fairly sick of their attempts to turn the NHS into a political football. Again. Can't be trusted with the economy considering their attempts to take us into the abyss last time round. Would also more than likely form a coalition with the SNP, which will be the end of the UK in no time.

Lib Dem - Two words - Tuition Fees

UKIP - Too single issue, too many mentalists. Part of me does want them to do well, just to piss The Guardian and it's right-on readers off, but not really a serious party imo.

Green - Bwuhahahahahahaha. One quick read of their manifesto should tell you all you need to know about this lot, but if that doesn't work just ask someone from Brighton how's they're getting on running that place. Council tax appears to be spiralling and local services are getting worse. Their record in Brighton on all things environmental appears to be fucking woeful as well.

Tory - The Snooper's Charter things worries me, as does the fact I now have to call Sky up if I want to watch porn on the internet. They appear to have failed miserably in ending the war on the motorist as they suggested they would, and DC's father-in-law makes far too much money from wind power subsidies for us to have a sensible energy policy when he's around, yet they are probably the safest hands for the economic recovery, and I do want a referendum on Europe. The EU was a fantastic idea that seems to have morphed beyond recognition, and the lack of accountability and democracy from the technocrats in charge is getting seriously concerning.

So yeah, failing the appearance of a more sensible right wing option, looks like I'm voting Tory again.

Referendum on the EU will never happen, they'll keep waving it when they need votes but when push comes to shove America won't let it happen, America says jump and our spineless politicians ask how high. We're the closest thing America has to being part of the EU itself, we're a proxy for America so to speak, America will do every shady under the table thing to keep us in the EU.

I don't intend to vote. It's Labour round here and nobody else is getting in - and the lack of PR means it's a waste of effort.

Fairly similar to my line of thinking really, it's more about the paucity of options than anyone who you think will make any real difference standing out. Better the devil you know and all that, so im drifting in the direction of the tories at the moment.

Thinking of voting Lib Dem. if you listen to the leaders' comments recently Nick Clegg is the only one who seems to have a clue about the Snoopers' Charter, free speech and presumption of innocence.

I voted Tory last time because DC was making the right noises on these things but in Government he's nearly as bad as Labour was on our liberties. Theresa May is happy to trot out the line that if we can't snoop on everything everyone does online then terrorists and paedophiles. Fuck them. The party that campaigned so hard against ID Cards has lost the plot.

Clegg makes the right noises here. Tuition fees is a stupid argument. They didn't win so they didn't get to implement their manifesto. Also, fuck students. They are the biggest limiters of free speech in the UK.

A bit worried that Lib Dem energy policy might be acceptable to Scouse so may change my mind yet but so far it's Lib Dems over the Tories for me.

(Labour can still fuck off. It's largely the same team behind Gordon Brown, the worst PM ever. UKIP can fuck off cos UKIP. Greens can fuck off cos Homeopathy and cloud cuckoo land.)

That didn't really happen though, there were some small compromises in the coalition agreement, but after the coalition was announced lib dem support dropped off a cliff, and the tories just bludgeoned any resistance with "lol leave then, call an election, lose half your mps, see if we give a shit".

I'm generally a Tory voter, but then I am a small business owner in East Anglia, so meh.

Having said that, I do not feel entirely fixed dogmatically to vote Tory. In fact my LibDem MP, Norman Lamb has been a good local MP whilst holding down a Ministerial position. He remembered my name and what I did when I met him a couple of years apart on related, but not the same, issues at functions. He didn't know I was going to be at the second one and there was no West Wing style whisper in his ear. That impressed me. I voted for him last time out.

But.

The thought of Labour getting in, or a coalition involving Labour leaves me terrified. Not just because they are Labour, but because the current Labour lot are lightweight idiots. They are stupid, stupid people with no idea. They don't even seem to have bright people working behind them.

I am regretting the fact that I don't have transferrable skills which would allow me to emigrate, because if Labour did get in, I would have been on the first plane out. They would screw things up in a manner which would be beyond comprehension.

So this time, sorry Norm, I'm voting Tory. I really hope the country isn't stupid enough to let Labour get their hands on power, I really do.
