PSO on DC made me buy a PC (thanks doomER) for ALL the multiplayer games that were out for pc. I still waiting for a decent one 5-6 years later.

PSU best be good or ill just give up on games full stop. Long years of crap games. Pain.

Well I couldnt even get past the tutorial without the connection to server dropping 3 times.

It doesnt look stunning, I'd expected more graphically. Although I am just judging it on the half of the tutorial I actually got to see.

Same here when i was playing PSO i kept grouping with the same people and this girl was always talking about a game called Ultima Online where you could tame dragons/be a mage/black smith etc i was like wtf. After about 6 months of playing i had to quit (1 penny a minute mounts up when you're playing it for 6 hours a day)

So off i go to currys to get a PC it cost me £500 and the bloke at currys is like ''oh yeah its awsome for games'' paid for it.. got home and started playing a game called Sudden Strike it worked fine but then i was fiddling around and noticed ''intergrated graphics card'' on the screen display.

So i go around the net looking what this is as i wanted to soak up knowledge, then i found out it was the shittest gfx card you could get lol.

So anyway about a month down the line i was in HMV and noticed that game Ultima Online i was looking at the back of the box ''be anything you wanted it said warrior/mage/tamer/black smith and meet 1000s of people online. I was thinking there in the shop ''wow this sounds awsome'' i had never played against anyone from anywhere outside my house.

So i took it home and installed it and it started downloading files that i didn't know what was for but i just let it carry on. About 3 hours later (wow 56k sucked) it was ready to play i set up account etc and logged in for the first time.

Confused as hell as i had never ever played a type of game where you could do what you wanted so i was wandering around trying to figure out things when this guy on a horse comes up in armour and ''you new'' and he showed me the basics of how to play.

I was abit overwhelmed at first and i left it for a few hours, then i went back and started wondering around then i entered a city called Britannia there was lots of writing on the screen and alot of people selling stuff i was like ''ah cool this must be a market type thing''.

So I'm wondering around and notice this guy selling dragons and i thought ''wow you can control dragons?'' so i started wondering around a forest and i came across an animal and it said ''would you like to try and tame this beast'' after around 3 hours i must have had around 50 bunnys and a few birds following me so off i went into town to see if anyone wanted to buy any ''a guy comes up and shouts ''wtf you doing newb? you aint gonna sell those go tame horses thats where you start out selling pets''

So anyway 2 years down the line i'm a 7x GM tamer/mage/med/animal vet/magic resist/wrestling/talior, i'd met thousands of people been killed by plenty of reds (they were PKS) back in the day you could be killed ANYWHERE and all you're stuff LOOTED from you. I got into pvp myself and became quite known for back up the ShadowLords with an army of dragons :)

Thats pretty much my story of how i got started in online gaming :) and Ultima Online is the king of MMORPG :) fantastic game which i played for 5 years (longest MMORPG i have ever played) until EA took it over and turned it into a carebear game :wanker:

My GF is on Sky BB and we were playing PSU at the time together at her house 16mb line ftw! phoned up sky and im getting it next week.

Its probably being hammered by the yanks prime time for those guys now ;/

BTW if anyone is having problems with PSU not being able to connect at all i found a fix go to the dashboard settings and do this.

DNS Primary 4.2.2.1
DNS 2nd 4.2.2.2

Make sure you switch it back to automatic after you're done playing.

Aye there seems to be issues with NTL DNS servers mainly. My 360 is connected to a router for which I use static IP/DNS. So I've had no issues at all. But then Blueyonder has always been better than NTLHell :)

Ch3tan, just use the disconnection option but the retry. Keep trying it should really only take 4-5 tries to get in.

Yep this worked for me, the retry option doesnt actually do anything. heh.

I quite like this, and I didn't do much but find as many beasties to kill as possible.

Whats good about PSO?

Guess it's kinda fun, but i'm lvl 5 atm and the only missions i can find are the

go through passage A* or B* which are both very similar and really boring, I woulda thought the missions would be fun but they are so crap so far :S

You are clearly blind then latency :)

There are loads of missions, I'm level 5 now, and got there after one sessions. Did one passage clearence mission, then went to another planet and did some kill the beastie missions, where the beasties are all level 15 or higher.

Well for me it was making great friends with a few people and constantly grouping with them to find rares/level up etc was a fantastic game back in the day.

I haven't played much of the beta as i don't want to spoil it for myself.

Wish I could be arsed to even consider it. Miserable reject gamer me, but I was expecting much more. And yet I played it so little.

Maybe too old or drunk, you pick.

Lumines live is on the arcade once it's back up.

Bit of a cheek though, 1200 points for the gamge (fair enough) but 600 quid for more skins/music, and apparently 100 more for a pack of skins and 100 more for a 'madonna' pack.

I'm just going to go for the main game I think.
