Look what I just got from the PS2 online beta team.
Dear Trial Member,

Hopefully your full copy of Hardware: Online Arena has been delivered, and you are enjoying the final game you helped us test.

Hardware is one the first games to support the Central Station login, and below is a request from TedTheDog who manages the network gaming community team and will referee the future events, and prevent cheaters etc. from ruining your online network fun. Your help with his below request is much appreciated.

"Now that Hardware is out we'd like to try and encourage players to play in the Central Station Universe, rather than the other Universe.
As the other universe has been around for a while and has let people build their ranks up its only logical that many of you will be playing there.

However, we really need to start the ball rolling in the Central Station Hardware Academy universe and we need you guys to move there.
The reasons should be reasonably obvious in that we can police the Central Station Universe to a far higher level, including banning cheats, obnoxious players and the like.

Also we will shortly be looking to the Beta Testers to recruit a Volunteer force to help out policing Central Station games in general, including Hardware. The volunteer force will only be recruited from within you guys, and will only work in the Central Station universes, so nowÆs the time to start making it home, in this game and "those yet to come".

Heh, I was sitting at home last night wondering if he'd sent it then I saw this thread. Its funny how I still get my news from BW and Whipped....

By the way, the reference to volunteers is especially valid to many of you guys. Obviously you have to be SCEE Beta testers but the role might suit some of you and you'll have more experience than others, so would be useful to me.
I notice you dont seem to use the Sony forums, or the beta forums. Would this be because this place does it all for you?

Unfortunately I lost my code thing that was sent thro the post to keep my name on Central Station when it went 'live'. And I'm sure my time has run out in which to full register my name :(

Oh well, suppose I should send an e-mail to customer support :|

Most people here, like me, use these forums to talk shit, not about games.

One day I'm gonna play that game. Heck I laughed my arse off at Battlefield Earth. Maybe this is the gaming equivalent :)

I don't use the PS beta forums cos the last time I was there they were full of the same posts asked in different ways:

"When we getting a new game?"
"Whens a new game being sent out?"
"Where were you born?"
"How many PS2 games you got?"

TBH I don't have enough time for two general forums :)

Plus I don't like the forum layout and its always slow
