Would it be overly flippant to suggest that the answer to your problem lies here? :)

Yes, as I have no problems with ie, I like it. Its easier for webby's to fix themselves to be clompiant with ie than force me to use another browser.

As i use that most, no instead you can suck my danglies? :p

It's a website issue anyway as it's reproducable, I can do it repeatedly. Just ruffle the menus faster than the loads (I assume for the arrows) & the whole thing crumbles making _all_ links on a page useless (i.e. essentially locking the browser on a page).

Tempting as it is, I think I'll pass on the dangly-sucking...

Patient - Doctor! Doctor! The TechNation menus break when I do this! *click click click*
Doctor - Don't do it then
:p I'll have a look at the code, although I have a feeling it's more to do with system resources and/or any IE addons than the fundamental code itself. Still, if needs be, I'll rewrite the script, although I am moving house at the moment, so leave me be for a while.

Kind Regards

Edit ~ Sorry for any inconvenience, btw :(

Actually a doctor said that to me once. I was so stunned that I was at a loss for words...AND he was an ENT specialist!

Me: If I press my neck here it makes a gurgling sound in my ear.
Doctor: Don't do it then

Me:

Tbh, I'm not one to want to pick a fight with the "nice bloke" of the forums, but before questioning my PC specs & system resources & what I've plugged in to IE or not, lets go through the following:

1) I've managed to do it on 2 separate PCs
2) It's an issue which is identified as only present in IE
3) the fact that somebody else has verified

Should lead you to: "Script + IE = bug, investigate" regardless of my PC

Now just to add that I've tried it on 2 pc's (purely for the testing benifit btw, not cos I had to load TN on 2 pc's) which run essentially fuck all other than latest patched IE & Word on WinXP (not exactly strenuous exercises for P4's with half a gig of memory) & as we all know Ch3tans pc is a fucking spangly new P4 shuttle, try shifting the blame elsewhere try maybe Microsoft Technicians..... everybody hates them.

(NB: reply to anyone else would be: "fuck off theres nothing wrong with my PC ****")

Crikey, I'm sorry MYstIC_G, I guess what I was trying to say came out wrong. I wasn't accusing or shifting the blame, sorry

I merely meant that JavaScript functions can run into trouble when the average load on a system is a little high, regardless of the specs.

Sorry if I've offended you, it wasn't my intention. The script will be carefully checked and rewritten.

Kind Regards

Jonty

P.S. I don't profess to be a 'nice guy' :(
P.P.S. Thanks for taking the time to reply thoroughly :D

Bloody hell Jonty for once I want you to lash out, swear, bitch something! Your too nice and apologetic (please don't apologise for this :p)

Yes DMW as we all know, Meg has a lot of hate and hate issues, if there really was a dark side he would be well engulfed by it.

Not having any problems with the navigation, and the general 'arrangement' of info and the navigation system work well, but I do find the whole 'pale' style very hard to read ... not just the links but all the text is pale blue/gray on white - for me this is where style and good looks have started to cross the line of functionality into an area that's going to result in me not regularly visiting.

If there are to be other 'styles' in the near future, can at least one of them have relatively high contrast text.

Of course this may all be related to the lack of contrast on my dying monitor. Will have to look at work.

OK, with rested eyes have managed to read through the AMD64 vs P4 EE review this morning.

Could I suggest that the drop down navigation at the bottom automatically load the page on selection of a section, rather than having to select the page and then click on the 'Jump to Page' button.

Also, having selected a section and clicked on Jump to Page the selection box doesn't increment, but stays selected with the section you're now in. Perhaps it should now show the next page.

Anyway, just a couple of suggestions.

Hmm, spotted one rather big point:

Looking in the articles section, there are no dates to be found? Timestamping the articals on the index page (and in the heading) would probably be useful for the future :)

I have just noticed the jargon help text. If you see an dotted, underlined word or abrreviation and hover the pointer above it you get a help text on it. Nice feature.

Just a comment about the reviews. It took me ages to find where it said who the author of the review was. How about just sticking the name in with the title of what's being reviewed?

Also, when I did find the name, it took me another age to find the profiles. Would it be possible to make the author's name inot a link to their profile?

I may just be being a stupid girl, but I really struggled with the navigation of the site. Other than that, I think it's lovely :)

Author, editor and the party responsible for any testing are now at the top of every new review. :)
