I have normal BT ADSL so I download at 500kbps. That's roughly 16 hours lol.

My maths is shit but at 5mbps that's still 3.3 hours

Its less than 3.3 hours, I can download 16gig in 1 hour and abit at max possible speed, no idea how its calculated :p

How much do you guys pay for that plus vat?

I pay £39 a month thats for phone + broadband/fibre off talktalk, been with them ages now ever since my 24mb adsl off them :p now have optical fibre off them and i've had no problems with them at all, they've not once throttled my download speed since I started with them and i'm a heavy downloader.

thats 6.6gig in 27 minutes and I can still get another 1200kb/s on top of that

i've just got the optical fibre recently :) was a nice upgrade I must say, I got 900kb/s max on my old line :( hopefully they'll start upping the optical fibre speeds soon, i dont care much for 100mb/s theres just no point in it, i'd be happy/probably stop at 10mb/s.

I live in the middle of nowhere, so anything I get relies on BT's lines and thus it is shite...

If im lucky i download at about 700kb/s but got to be extremely lucky for that. But even so that doesnt bother me as should get a few days to download anyways.... even if I do it on laptop and leave it on overnight before transfering it across to PC. As is I probably have to try play it on my laptop (arghhhh) because I be at the inlaws for xmas !"

Hugey great patch (20Gb) coming down my line at the moment for the full testers. I guess there wasn't a lot of point letting the weekend testers download a large version that they would then have to patch anyway.

Patience my young Padawan, your time will come.

In case you don't know, Bioware is a company that seems to like giving people random bonuses for stuff. If you sign up for beta, there's a chance they might give you some fluff in-game. So even if you don't bother to download and play, I would recommend you reigister a beta code to your account.

The latest big update has polished the game really well, and also, they've lifted the NDA so expect loads of new videos and stuff to come.

(y)

Core i3 M370 with 3 Gig RAM

It's a bit clunky, but more than playable. Really enjoying it. Almost tempted to stop for a bit though as I'll cry when my character goes at the proper launch.

8 gig ddr3 ram

i'd assume I can run it at full everything given the date of the engine.

Rule of One - recruiting for launch. Will be playing on a PvP server, expect to have 50 members for launch, mostly former DAoC players from Prydwen and Excal plus a few Warhammer players. Anyone interested should have a look at our SWTOR guild page...

Oh, we will be playing Sith, should mention that!

Legacy system....

Joined: May 2009 Legacy System | 11.18.2011 , 01:29 PM

Hey Everyone,

This build has our first iteration of the Legacy System! At its core the Legacy system is about allowing players to create a family tree of characters. Family is pretty important to the Star Wars universe, with the Skywalker family having one of the most interesting dynamics in movie history. This version is just the foundational components that we will use to build upon in the future. Here are the features of this iteration:
Once your character has completed their Chapter 1 storyline, they will be able to choose a Legacy Last Name. This Legacy Last Name must be unique and is shared across all characters on that server - so choose carefully!
Once you have unlocked your Legacy, any and all characters on that server will now contribute to that player's Legacy Experience Points. Much like normal experience points, when you reach certain Legacy thresholds, you will increase your Legacy Level.

We already have plans for how we will expand the functionality of the Legacy System in one of our major post-ship patches. This will include being able to shape your Legacy's family tree, and give you a reward for all those Legacy Levels.

We look forward to reading your feedback on the Legacy System!

I wonder when they will start sending out the download links for the upcoming test. I think 30 gig will take me quite some time to download.

Were people that applied for testing earlier supposed to get keys? I didn't go to any commercial sites to get a key, because the mail I got said:
As part of this test, we will be partnering with games industry sites to distribute additional beta codes as necessary. This will help ensure we meet our population goals, so we can effectively stress test our servers in preparation for launch. Please do not acquire and redeem one of these codes as it could jeopardize your ability to participate in this test.
