I did ;) - but then I went and watched all the repeats of the first series.

Yeah - great episode tonight. The music when Christopher Reeve turned up bought a smile to my face. :)

Music is such a part of it, and so many hidden meanings to everything - even him wearing red shirt and a blue jacket when he's in the caves etc! and that newspaper... the logo...

He looks the part that way.. and remember continuity my friend!

The one thing I don't like about Smallville (and don't get me wrong, I think its a good show) is the inevitability of it. Back when "The New Adventures of Superman" was en vogue, all of the mystery and suspense revolved around "when would Lois find out Clark = Superman" and "when would Lois and Clark hit it off". When it did inevitably happen, everything that was drawing the audience to the show disappeared. The show quickly became tired and ultimately pointless after that. The same can be said of the X-Files - as soon as Mulder and Scully "got it on", the whole "will they, wont they" seething Dickensian storyline just vanished.

The same curse applies to Smallville I feel. There is only a matter of time before more of Clarks buddies find out that he's got superpowers, and what happens then? In many respects, watching the show, its almost as if its going through the motions before this inevitable conclusion.

I thought in the films nobody knew who Superman was apart from his parents.

But now in Smallville he has told one of friends so I suppose one day they will kill him off.....like everyone else who finds out Supermans secrets.

hmmm good point durzel, it'll be interesting to see where series 3 goes - the problem with the new adventures was that it became too love orientated (lois and clark) and everything he did was always followed by some sort of devotion to her! which ruined it..

I'm sure the writers wont throw it away with smallville - they've done well so far i reckon.. will he learn to fly?
