So PSN was back up a few days ago, and the Welcome Pack is enabled now.

It's straightforward to get your free shiz.
Sign into the Store.
There's a panel saying "Welcome Back" on the right.
You need to click on the "Free PS3 games" first to enable the free game downloads.
Now pick your two games from:
  • Dead Nation
  • inFamous
  • Ratchet & Clank
  • Little Big Planet
  • WipeoutHD & Fury
I chose inFamous for myself and LBP for the kids. I'm already playing Portal 2 co-op with my eldest and my other daughter is now asking if she can play games. I thought LPB was an innocuous introduction.

You also get 30 days free PSN+ if you want, which might be worth it for the free games for a month.

PSP owners also get a choice of 2 games from a choice of 4.

Apparently there are also 3 free rentals of movies.
  • House of the Dead 2
  • Resident Evil Degeneration
  • Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within
...but you've only got till the 5th to get them.

More info here:

Would love the freebies but not at the expense of my .mkv playback. :(

But the store doesn't work. In fact I think I've already lost one of my 'free games' due to a network glitch. No link to Free PS3 game 1 any more and I've downloaded nothing. This is fucking disgustingly shit. Sony are morons.

I'm still deciding whether to update my PS3 or not at the moment, but on my PSP I just constantly get error number 80431063. Annoyingly the PSP used to connect to PSN fine.

If you didn't redeem both your games straight off the bat, you can get your second game by skipping the store
1. On your PlayStation 3 or PlayStation Portable navigate to the PlayStation Network icon on the XMB

2. Log into your PlayStation Network account and choose Account Management > Transaction Management > Services List

3. Choose “SCEA Promotions” from the list of services displayed

4. Select either “PS3 Free Games” or “PSP Free Games” and then choose “Select Content”

Release date(s) 1991 (Amiga, Atari ST, Mega Drive)
1992 (C64)
1993 (CD32, AGA Amigas, DOS, SNES, Game Gear, Master System)
2003 (Game Boy Advance, PlayStation)
2005 (Nintendo DS)
2006 (PlayStation 2)

EU July 2, 2009 (PSN)

kixx did conversions of popular games to speccy/c64 back then fuck knows why but they seemed to make the c64 versions less perfect, quite suprised its been ported over the years to newer systems, but fuck knows why they didnt build the IP up in the 90s it had a very solid follwing

Only a dumb company would not have though "what if we are next" I expect half the industry (just not Sony) has watched this Sony situation and beefed up security as a result. There is no telling what Nintendo were like before Sonygate.

I think the major difference here is that Sony stored everything in plain text (and probably still do if the Sony movies website is anything to go by!) and Nintendo didn't.

thats what gets me the most about the whole thing. you'd expect the peeps who were in charge of that to get thier nuts clipped.

tbh i was expecting them to make someone a scapegoat, especially after recent events.
Given xbox live and a few other software houses/publishers have been hit i would guess everyone is scrambling to get their houses in order

you now all thier claims about stuff does not seem that far fetched now

And everyone that goes to that site will probably get prodded for info to help them match the info they stole.

smart move to help these retards... :)
