How ?

I'm a complete noob when it comes to Linux. Did a search here but came up with nothing. From what I've gathered I need some kind of software/emulator. Seen Point2Play and Cedega4 mentioned often, however these cost money. Any way around this ?

Any tips welcome.

I've tried to get it working under WINE (nowadays pretty much standard in every linux distro) but no luck though. Got as far as the login screen / update window, but not completely in the game sadly..

I aswell would love to know how to get DAoC running in Linux.

You need WineX, which is now called Cedega. It's a windows compatability lair which includes DirectX functionality (which Wine doesn't).

You get it from here

http://www.transgaming.com/

But you do have to pay for it. You have to sign up for something like $5 a month to get updates, etc.

Can't guarantee it will work for DAoC, some people have no trouble, others can't get it to run at all.

WineX is the way to go , but if you are a linux N00b forget it, VMware is an Emulater and is way to slow for DAOC. even wineX lacks performance.

my tip dont try it, if u dont know nething about linux.
