in the train this evening there was a couple sitting two seats over from me. their table's little bin thing was squeaky. like, nails on a chalkboard squeaky. I know this, because between Amsterdam and my home town they opened the bin to throw things away 17 times. if I had telekinetic powers I would have forced each of them to shart out a pink sock and then strangle themselves with it.

Last week i sat through a long ass dinner party where this one person couldn't seem to NOT grind the tip of his fork against his porcelain plate through four courses over almost 3 hours straight.. And i bet both my arns and legs that half way through he noticed how fucking horrible people found it to be and started doing it on purpose...

If i hadn't been there with my sister and niece i'd have taken my own fork and planted it into his fucking forehead.

Flight got cancelled at last minute. Phoned their call centre to sort alternatives. Bill just came thru and the call cost me £95.

Also my bimmer's headlights are misbehaving. They have an automatic height adjustment thing, but it's decided to just point up constantly. Just had 10hrs of night driving combined over the weekend - every other car flashed me.

Apparently a common fault with BMWs and Audis, along with faulty indicators :)

If it's anything like my Lexus, it'll be a sensor on the one of the car's axles. Mine was a little potentiometer connected via a linkage to a point on the suspension. The arm had snapped. The replacement part cost many monies, so I fashioned a replacement out of a meat skewer which worked fine.

I fucking..fucking..fucking hate win10..microshite and the ground they lay on...forced updates.
From my very first microshite device..winmobile pocket pc...which the fucknuts thought was a good idea to make the flash lose its memory if the battery died.
From day one, that cunting company has treated its customers like an inconvenience.
I hope an earthquake devours them.

Had to go to Dhaka, spent 2 hours in the VISA on arrival section. The queue lasted longer than the customer meeting I had there :(

Mine works fine.
It works OKish, not because of any tidy coding, but because the chip manufacturers keep adding cores to keep up with the bloat.
Anyway, its the forced updates that just reboot in the middle of anything.
Only microshite would do such a thing..they are an arrogant twat of a company.

Remembering my Prince2: Practitioner certification runs out on 15th Feb so I have to book a recertification exam.

Day off work (money lost), exam £275. Absolutely zero time available :(

Local estate management company trying to close a private road that's been used, uninterrupted, by local people for at least 40 years. It provides a very safe walking/cycling/horse connection to a big network of local trails and also a very safe link between several towns. The alternative routes are very heavy with traffic and tbh, quite frightening for cyclists. Cue serious amounts of rage on Facebook (I posted the letter on a local group) and a council planning officer deluged by hundreds of residents calling to voice their concern.

Co-incidentally, I just filmed a group of fracking protesters for a day up near Blackpool, some of their tactics are very interesting and perfectly legal. Like walking along the road at 0.1 mph, the effect being to bring traffic to a standstill. I can well imagine this becoming the case up here, which is especially interesting seeing as the road is the only access to Man Utd's training ground. I can't see it going down too well if the players take 2 hours to get into and out of the ground...

Google Maps

That's all they want to shut - the rest of it north and south is a public right of way.

Same thing happened near where i used to live in UK, a shortcut through farmers field had developed into a footpath over the years (there was no gate as it was unused for decades)

New owner comes along and wants to close it off, locals and council protest, he agrees to not put in a gate but moves his horse shit decomposing site to that field, people stopped using it...

They want to thin the number of cyclists by using darwin on heavey traffic roads :)

Aren't they shutting it on behalf of Man U?

No, Man Utd staff man the barriers and they've always been brilliant. Always wave, say hello, dead cheery. They often see me on the CCTV and lift the barrier as I pass (you can get around the barriers, but lifting them is easier). It isn't Man Utd, the company who've done this have recently been bought by Wain homes. There's a massive industrial site near this land, the plan is to build about 10,000 homes on there in the next decade. I reckon they're trying to establish "this is our land, we never said you could cross it, fuck off".

I think given the depth of local feeling, they're going to have a fight on their hands. And if people die on the surrounding roads because they can no longer use this route (the roads either side are horrible to ride on), they're going to be blamed for that too. I mean, where would you rather ride? Here:

or here?

You're a person who in a real world setting I would probably dislike and avoid interacting with. But see, that's the beauty of the internet, you get a pseudo free society where even pouring shit out of a gaping hole in text form is tolerated, and you can co-exist with normal people. See how that works? Apply that in real life, maybe?
