Used to be a good Chinese round here, sold up though, now its crap like the rest.

We have several excellent curry houses though, one of which specialises in seafood, its absolutely outstanding.

I use a website called transferwise for all my bank transfers across the pond. Faster and cheaper than a bank transfer.

Cool. Paypal is immediate which is why we use it. Ofcourse you need to have a paypal account at each end of the transaction. Which is a limiting factor.

What is it with people walking on the pavement with their bikes these days?
It's on the increase in the City of London now.

If you have a bike fucking ride it on the road don't block up the pavement with it! There are enough people about without having bikes to get in the way as well.

Can't win eh? Ride on the road get shouted at by drivers, walk on the pavement get shit from pedestrians. (Personally I'd ban prams).

To be fair - it's probably cyclists that are scared to ride that particular bit of road Dys.

They were supposed to be gone in Ireland by the end of last year, but as usual it's been delayed. I think it's 2019 now.

No it's because there is road works and they can't be bothered to cycle the diverted route because it would take 5 minutes longer.
Well if you ban prams you would have to get rid of wheel chairs and mobility scooters.

Bad for the environment and make a racket.

Just kicked my mates daughter out of my bedroom. This morning she seems to want to do naked star jumps on my bed and simply can't be discouraged :(

This shit...

It's not fucking victim blaming. If one of the things you can do as a woman to lower your chances of getting raped is not get smashed out of your tree then that needs to be said. It doesn't mean that it's in any way your fault if you do get raped, however.

Wishing the world to be one way and it actually being that way are two different things.

Or am I wrong?

I completely agree.

The rhetoric at the minute is that rape is because one person wants to rape another person, that's it.

In reality, if you're staggering home drunk, on your own after a night out, you're more likely to get raped.

It's not suggesting that you're in the wrong for being raped, but it's suggesting if you want to avoid it.

It's almost like suggesting you should be able to keep your house unlocked and all your windows and doors open and if you get burgled it's OK, because you didn't -have- to do anything to try and prevent it.

That kinda implies that it's your own fault if someone comes and steals something. It isn't, but you're kinda stupid if you don't lock your doors.

Stupid <> Fault tho. But I guess in terms of rape-guilt you don't want girls who've been raped to feel guilt and shame (as it stops them reporting). But at the same time you do want them to try not to present a vulnerable target.

Yeah, but the way that the courts/education presents it is; go out and do what ever the fuck you like, get off your face and walk a mile home through a dodgy part of a city, if you get raped, you'll be totally fine.

Only parents appear to be the ones who actually concerned about the welfare.

I think that's what it actually comes down to, education/courts seem to have moved away from the welfare of an individual, and moving over to the aspect of getting the criminals off the streets.

It kinda throws up all sorts of issues for stuff like date rape though, and I think it's becoming more and more prevalent with recent court cases saying 'yeah, actually this is kinda silly, no doesn't mean no the next morning when you think back and regret it'
