And lotr: ttt shouldn't have been nominated for best film..

Infact, nothing to do with lord of the rings should be.. perhaps somethign to do with cgi in films.. but that's *it*. The films were totally bland, the oscars are a fucking joke.

I didn't realise anyone still cared about these awards?!

I thought they were just there so that when the DVD comes out they can put "Nominated for best <insert title here>"

LotR: Ttt is a shoe-in for Best Visual effects, but tbh I preferred the first film far more. The second one seemed to lack the spark the first one had, which was mainly down to the full cast of characters interacting, with the involved tensions and camaraderies.

Plus there wasn't enough Ian McKellan or Chris Lee in the second one for my liking. :/

I've not seen a single one of any of those films.

And I don't care about that, either.

Really scraping the barrel.

Neither have I, bar LotR, but the Oscars are usually fairly predictable, unless they're studiously avoiding rewarding certain flicks - last year and LotR for example.

Nice surprise to see Y tu Mama Tambien getting a nomination. Not a particularly excellent film, but original is one thing it is.

And I had a screener of the new Bond film with "loaned for award consideration purposes" overlayed every half-hour or so... [welsh]Gutted[/welsh]. :)
