Just watched S1E1 of Persons of Interest - Is it worth following? Seems like a good idea, but I can see it getting very samey?

I thought the same but the bigger story arc is actually pretty decent. The individual stories vary enough to keep it interesting as well.

The Blacklist really looking forward to this one. James Spader was epic is Boston Legal.

Raymond "Red" Reddington, one of the FBI's most wanted fugitives, surrenders in person at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C. He claims that he and the FBI have the same interests: bringing down dangerous criminals and terrorists. Reddington will cooperate, but insists that he will speak only to Elizabeth Keen, a rookie FBI profiler. Keen questions Reddington's sudden interest in her, though he claims that Keen is very special. After the FBI brings down a terrorist he provided information on, Reddington reveals that the terrorist is only just the first of many. In the last two decades, he made a list of criminals and terrorists he believes the FBI can not find because they did not know they exist and that they matter the most. Reddington calls it "The Blacklist".

From that paragraph it looks awful. It looks like they're desparately trying to find a new angle to try the "civilian working with the feds" procedural from. I'm willing to give it a shot but I'm not optimistic.

I just saw an advert for it on Sky and that looked good. It looks like it is big budget action. Plus my favorite show is NCIS so this could be right up my street.

For anyone else that watched NCIS there is bad news with one of the stars and not signing a new contract :(

Due to bad weather watched first 2 seasons of Game of Thrones in 2 days. How can I get season 3 easily?

Ugh, Dexter.

Fair's fair, that was pretty brutal at the end but the list of ridiculousness and laziness on the part of the writers is baffling.
  • Why would Dexter fuck about hugging a corpse when his target is busy running away?
  • Honestly, who gives a shit about Deb and Quinn? What a waste of screentime (get the feeling that's exactly why they did it tbh, just to pad out the awfulness that is everything else that's going on).
  • His dad being around for these dialogues used to be used intelligently but now it's just a way for them to explain to us what's going through his head (because we're obviously too dumb to keep up with it ourselves).
  • Masuka's daughter. What the actual fuck.
  • You're a serial killer Dexter, fucking go find some baddies and cut them up!
  • You have to feel sorry for Harrison, he's such an afterthought it's almost embarrassing to have him around. Everytime he's there he is always like "oh hi Hannah!" "Yeah that's great Harrison now fuck off so the adults can talk". I swear he got shunted off at least twice in that episode alone. He's such a part-time character, it's amazing that Dexter even remembers that he exists. Just for shits and giggles, they should put a black boy in his place for an ep or two and just carry on as normal.
They could probably have had this car-crash of a season done and dusted in 4 eps (6, tops) if they cut all the superfluous bullshit out of it.
I don't even know any more. I'm going to persevere with it because it's DEXTER for fuck's sake. It's like having a sick dog that you want to just put out of it's misery but instead, they're keeping it alive to die a slow, agonising death.

I don't understand how they produced these last two seasons. So bad in comparison to those that went before.

You should at least watch to the end of season 4, John Lithgow is fantastic in it.

Season 3 with Jimmy Smits was bad, but Season 4 was excellent. Season 1 & 2 were best by far. At least they ended it and did not try to keep on going.

Sons of Anarchy...
*Really* not sure about them doing a school shooting... I'm not sure they have the wherewithal to pull off something as sensitive and topical as that. It just feels like they're going for the shock value as much as possible (a pretty nasty anal rape scene in the first few minutes, literal torture porn, a guy being drowned in a bath-ful of piss, a young boy shooting up a school...).

It will be interesting to see how they deal with the aftermath of the shooting, I guess he got the gun from whoever that was who is presumably dating his mum so there will be ramifications for Nero's crew I guess?

In b4 drugs are somehow that ex-marshall's downfall.

Burn Notice final ep...
Hmm, I have to say I was expecting reams of bullshit but that was actually quite a satisfying ending.

I kinda gave up on Futurama a few seasons ago, kept downloading them but just archived them. I've heard the last few episodes were excellent though so I may have to figure out where I got up to and plough through them all...

Dexter. Thank everything that it's finally over. What an absolute car-crash of a season and a terrible finale. There was just so much wrong with it I don't even know where to start.
Dexter getting stabbed in the shoulder with a pen and then having NO problem with movement in that arm. He was walking normally, he was leaning on the handrail outside his place... He hardly lost any blood and then apparently has a chat to Quinn and Batista with the same shirt on with the same amount of blood on it.

Masuka's daughter. Huh?

The woman who got the detective job ahead of Quinn. Where the fuck did she go?!

Saxon going back to the hospital to kill Deb. WHY?

Dexter unplugging Deb's life-support and then just wheeling her out of the hospital and loading her unceremoniously onto the back of his boat and then going off out to sea. Apparently you can literally get away with murder when everyone is flapping about preparing for a hurricane.

Harrison. Oh, Harrison.

Elway is mighty good at sneaking up on people. Fucking retard for not calling the US Marshalls as soon as he had had his little gloating moment with Hannah.
Just... UGH. Really, really awful on every level.

Nope, he's a lumberjack now!

I honestly would've been as satisified as I could be with this ending if he'd just sailed off into the storm and died. Now, his boat was a complete wreck and he has somehow, as if by magic, got to the shore (if you look when Deb's body is still on the boat is he fucking FAR out to sea) in the middle of a massive hurricane.

There was an interesting alternative ending that one of the writers who left at the end of season 4 had in mind. He said it's how he would've ended it.
"In the very last scene of the series," Philips explained, "Dexter wakes up. And everybody is going to think, 'Oh, it was a dream.' And then the camera pulls back and back and back and then we realize, 'No, it's not a dream.' Dexter's opening his eyes and he's on the execution table at the Florida Penitentiary. They're just starting to administer the drugs and he looks out through the window to the observation gallery. "And in the gallery are all the people that Dexter killed—including the Trinity Killer and the Ice Truck Killer (his brother Rudy), LaGuerta who he was responsible killing, Doakes who he's arguably responsible for, Rita, who he's arguably responsible for, Lila. All the big deaths, and also whoever the weekly episodic kills were. They are all there. "That's what I envisioned for the ending of Dexter. That everything we've seen over the past eight seasons has happened in the several seconds from the time they start Dexter's execution to the time they finish the execution and he dies. Literally, his life flashed before his eyes as he was about to die. I think it would have been a great, epic, very satisfying conclusion."
It's a bit of a Dallas-esque cop out but it would've been better than the shit we actually got.

Shame about Dexter, if you are going to watch this season, just watch the last two episodes. The rest is filler crap.

Well I thought the first episode of Agents of SHIELD was utterly unspectacular.

Sleepy Hollow on the other hand has been quite fun so far, pleasantly surprised.
