I just ordered a £1200 Alienware for £900. I know people don't like them but I don't have room for a pc and desk and the like. And for the money it's a nice spec plus not much out there compares.
They are not bad laptops just overpriced for the hardware inside. Sounds like you got a good deal though![]()

Yeah I get that. They are ugly too but for the money I could not find a better machine. I will consider any brand but it's got to be a 14' screen.

Looks nice but with 120cm drop protection I'd put your lad down as favourite to win this challengeplaying around with a new Panasonic Toughpad FZ-A1 at the moment, really nice. Have not given it the tough child test yet as my son is in the UK on holiday.

Cooling system is excellent and you can overclock without much effort. Price in US retail was 1273 in Best Buy.
Any issues with use in terms of power supplies? Or was it just grab a power-adapter and go? - How about import costs?
