ok I'm on vodafone. ex-gf is on virgin. Delivery reports are on so you get the "pending" receipt, but there's no delivered.

2 days now been trying but she is not getting them, although a workmates virgin mobile had no problems receiving my texts?

Anyone else having probs or is it more a case the ex has done something (although I can still ring so not barred?).

Her inbox is empty (so she says) so could be the phone although she is getting texts from others?

/me scratches chin :/

no as I can still ring? also she says she has not. to block a mobile the provider has to block it all. texts and voice?

Thsi has happened to me before. A few times. First time I kicked off so much Genie sent me a new sim card. Second time they took so long sending me a new sim card it fixed itself. If she sends a message to herself, does it arrive? The phone part still worked for me, just not texts.

insane :p

damini could be her phone, but it only seems to be me. Got a supspicion (spelling grr) that she has her inbox full and is leaving it like that so my texts not delivered. she's starting to say stuff like "your ignoring me?" and how ill she is feeling. All this after we had at talk about us moving on and me finding another gf :/

then again probably a techie prob at vodafone, but it's an odd one.

Trust me, it would be impossible for *ANY* female to leave her inbox full, because that would mean not only losing your messages but also any messages from anyone. It just goes completely against the grain of being female.

Sas, try turning your phone off then back on again, and get her to do the same
(i know most people cant go a whole night with their mobile turned off in case they miss a vital txt message, at 5AM!!! *grrr* )

Vodafone had this dodgy problem with me (before i went to genie last feb) where it would suddenly believe my phone was turned off... yet it was still on and functional! :(

Im not going to start on the problems I had with Genie

Oh, this is what they told me to do..

Go to network, chose manual, then try to log onto a network you aren't registered to, it wont let you, then log back onto your network. They made me do this So Many Fucking Times that I would phone up the helpdesk and say;

"Hi, I'm phoning about my phone, it doesn't recieve incoming text messages, I know they have been sent, no my inbox isn't full, no, if I send a text to myself it doesn't work, you're going to suggest to me to go to my network, change to orange and when it cant find orange to go back to BT, and I'm going to tell you that doesn't work so don't make me do it again because it really annoys me."

They never properly explained why this happenned to me.

Damini women are a strange breed and trust me you'd be suprised with some of the stories I hear at work :).

insane good idea, will get her to do it. can't see it being a network prob as no reports with vodafone. working smoothly atm

First, it's almost impossible to have a number "barred" via your network. I was recieving extremely abusive and threatening calls from an ex, and Vodafone flatly refused to bar any numbers unless I went to the police and filed a report. I'm sure you'll find all networks operate this way.

I occasionally get a problem on Vodafone where I can't send texts to my GF, whom is also on Vodafone even though I can still send texts to other people on Vodafone, or any other network.(this can last up to 2 days at a time) Their excuse is that even though we are both on Vodafone, we exist on different systems, and as such the 'link' between these different systems sometimes fails.

I'd suggest waiting a few days and trying again. I know my mum had probs for the last 3 days on Cellnet/O2 sending messages to people on Orange (which is the same network Virgin uses iirc) which resolved itself this last night. You could of course contact your customer services and ask them if their is a known issue

I disagree, my wife freqeuntly loses answerphone messages because she's too clever to remember to delete them or know how to empty the inbox, so it fills up.

But deliberately? To deliberately stop all incoming text messages?

I'm sure shes being deliberately stupid, yes.

Erm, my meaning was that I find it hard that any woman would deliberately, consciously and with intent, deprive herself of text messages.

Not calling your poor wife intentionally stupid. Mind you, Kenny's of the Highly Irritating Opinion (TM) that I would be good at computers if he just makes me do him Highly Annoying Techy Tasks (TM) over and over again, he can make me overcome my Obviously Deliberate Failure to Comprehend Technology (TM) I have going on. Oh, the fun we have.... heh...

Well you _eventually_ got rid of the old. prefix didn't you ? Assuming of course you had that classified as a "Highly Annoying Techy Task (TM)" (*snigger*) :)

I sense a lot of negative energy in here today. I want you all to sit down comfortably, close your eyes and breathe deeply for 5 minutes.

Better?

Hello? Wake up?

Exact same thing Dam, but once I had mine on manual its never given me a problem again. Only thing is if you lose signal you have to tell it to look for network because it doesnt know to do it automatically any more. You'd have to get your ex to do this.

It worked for me Dam, but i'm on vodafone know and when I txt or get sent txt's they actually arrive within seconds, unlike the random orange txt message system ( I left Orange specifically because their TXT messaging was awful, left 121/virgin for the same reason).
