currently a lvl 32 shaman and got 207 in blacksmith.
went to the trainer in orktown today and saw that i could specialise in either armour crafting or weapon crafting so i decided to take the armour path.
after selecting this choice nothing changed and i couldnt talk to my specialist trainer, i could however chose the path i wanted to spec in again.
so anyway i was wondering if there was a sepcific level i have to be at to specialise (either characters level or blacksmithing level) as im a little bit confused by this.

many thanks

I think you also need 220 in the craft to get the quest...

200 craft level and 35 character level to become Artisan.

After that, it's level 40 and you speak with another NPC than your usual trainer. (in Ironforge it's the supervisor, standing between your trainer and the two specialist trainers; don't know who in Orgrimmar).

The usual trainer only says "Tell me about..." etc.

After speaking with the supervisor (in IF's case) and chosing the path to take a quest will activate on the specialist trainer of your choice.

Atleast that's how it's done on the Alliance side.

Edit: this might help you a bit more ;)
