Like Fantasy Stories?

I was wondering if anyone here would mind proof reading a story I'm working on, it's just the beginning and I don't need fanbois, I need slapping down if its ungodly crap

It's not high fantasy, I prefer something that can go light hearted to serious. I'm going through and touching up so at the moment I have only 2,000 words of re-written beginning, but I'd like an opinion on how that works before I throw it on my webbie.

I'm a huge fan of fantasy, both high and the less standard ones,(Reading the Coldfire Trilogy at the moment from C.S. Friedman)
and I hope I'm not too afraid to burn it down word for word

In the future I'm going to do one of maybe several things...

1) Carry on with my stand up comedy.

2) Write comedies, ala Black Adder, and telly plays/scripts

3) Write stand up for other people

4) Be a check out girl at (insert generic supermarket here)

Hopefully not 4.

Erm, I'm not very improvisational, its quite tightly scripted. Allegedly best described as disgruntled outsider humour, but that could really mean anything

Yup, I've got some of my first ever open mike slots in london coming up (NO, you can't be told when and where

) and I've done seven or so gigs to student audiences so far.

I'm nothing like Victoria Wood style wise I'm afraid, she's far too *nice*.
