One of the best things about BarrysWorld servers is the fact that if u don't live in the UK the ping difference is minimal, so its only down to the fact u have ISDN and we have 56k

What crappy isp´s and telephone lines do u have in britain?!!
Take bwtfcl servers as an example. In my team 75% has isdn 64k and the rest cable/T1 and we got better ping than most of the uk clans we played on bwtfcl servers.
Our isdn players has the same ping as uk isdn players and even better in most of the battles.

Unfortunately, over here in the UK we seem to "lag" behind most other Countries with regards to connections to the Internet, ISDN is pretty good (not for Downloads) but regularly ping around 60 on a good server, however Cable and ADSL (both 512k) are available in a lot of areas now, and will sure over the next year take over ISDN.
Which is nice
Most of us at [Dtm] are on ISDN or Cable, we have 2 or 3 Members on 56k, so were pretty much an LPB clan. But when 1st started, we must of averaged 300 Ping as a clan (now about 120)
UK will soon be all LPB's and deservedly so.

Its true - In the UK we have long lengths of copper twine connected to a Modem or "tin cup" as we affectionately refer to them. This twine is then slung roughly over wooden poles and buried in trenches with many other similar lengths of twine. Eventually the other end is tied off in a half hitch at our telephone exchange or "Tin Bucket" from which it joins the rest of the UK Network in doing slow labourious circuits of the country before settling on this least efficient route to any particualr destination you specify. Improving you connection or "pulling your end tighter" is quite a task in the UK but we all have high hopes for improvements within the next, well century?
