No, it wasn't. It was trying to prove something, and went off on one about political issues. It wasn't 'sad' at all, just a pathetic stab at government. It could have been sad, it really could, but it just wasn't. Not that i've ever watched Brookside ever(ever).

Basically what had happened is this druglord had moved onto the close and many of the local kids were in coma's through drug overdose, also the guy had beaten up a load of the locals. So eventually all the Brookie chars got into his house at night and hung him by his neck out the window, he died but because they'd all helped the blame couldn't be pinned on anyone.

Also Claire Sweeney is going to get married to that bald Barry bloke, and Jimmy Corkhill was the last person to move away, all the houses got boarded up and just before he left be put a D on the street sign so it read

Brookside CloseD

Eldorado had the greatest final episode ever. Almost all the characters went on a coach tour, and the bus drove off the side of a cliff.:)

Eldorado, oh man the acting in that was very bad. :)
Hmm didn't something similiar happen in The Young Ones, there was a cliff and a billboard of Cliff Richard and they yelled "Cliff" then the bus went over, or maybe it was a different programme. ;)

Jesus, hadnt realised that Brooky had gone downhill so far. From what i just read, that was the worst premise for a plot ever, and i've seen that american show 'Passions'.

Brookside would have been better if Harry Enfield produced it.

Calm down, calm down, eh ?
