What the hell is this guy playing at, he's our only hope to get rid Mr incompetent, stop the drunken Scotsman and the nazis from taking power, and prevent the Europeans from doing what they failed to do in 2 world wars, but all he does is make claims that he'll go to number 10. Labour & Conservative have moved so far from their old values towards the middle to try and encapsulate as many voters as possible that they are now basically the same party with the same policies as each other.

No real benefit of voting Conservative > Labour or vice versa except for who you do and don't like. If Conservative just got a few fit birds as MP's then I'd probably vote them, but as it is I don't see the point of voting. Haven't voted in an election since I turned 18 and that was 10 years ago now.

If politicians were more honest, perhaps we'd be less sceptical.

For instance:

"Do you think you'll do a good job running the Treasury?"

current response "We will endevaour to work in the best interests of the country, look at the evidence, low inflation, etc"

proper response "Well I don't know really, but I'll give it my best shot. It kind of depends on how the US economy does really"

The problem is this:

The Conservatives are, and always have been, a bunch of twats who only help the uber-rich.
Labour have pretty much failed to live up to any of the promises they made in all their elections, and have buggered up large portions of the country.
And the Lib Dems have such a small share of the vote that they don't stand a chance of gaining power, and probably wouldn't know what to do with it if they did.

So it looks like apathy or Arnie is the way forward...

Err I was tory supporter when I left school in 1980. Even when the dole queues went out the door of the dole office and down the road, i was a Tory.
By 1983-84 it became a few things became apparent.
The Tories ONLY help themselves and people like them.
Hence the poll tax , interest rate drops just before elections -that helped to cause massive recessions- the shut down of the mines, I could go on. We have NO way of producing our own power here any more, since Maggie shut down our pits and started buying from the Germans. Probably saved one of her mates money somewhere down the line.
The labour party, whilst not always in the right (pardon the pun) at least , it seems to me, have the intention of trying to help people, sometimes they get it right, sometimes they get it wrong.
Thats how it seems to me.
i dont want to come the old "when you've seen"what ive seen bollocks, but at the end of the day I cant see any other way of putting it.

As has been established both main parties are pretty much the same, including their penchant for screwing things up. It seems to me the only difference is that labour taxes us to shit then wastes the money, where the tories tax less, and waste the money.

As for politicians lying, half the time i cant say i blame them. Alot of people dont like hearing the truth about things. Even if a politician had the political courage to tell the truth, someone else would inevitably say "their lying! we can do it better".
