IDE Controller problems

anyway i can fix it?

its just i can play games fine, or listen to music fine if i mix the 2 they crash the comp. Music is on one hd while game is on another so ive been told it could be IDE controller.

Using.

Nforce2 board
amd 2.6 (runs at 2.1)
1gb ram
geforce 5900 128

any help welcome :)

ok thanks :), dling now, hope this fixes it :), as to start with i thought it may be bad sectors on hd, then worked out since its from seperate hd's it cant be if im fine doing one or the other, tho the info on to how to work round bad sectors speeded my machine up alot ;)

Hmm is it only music on one + games on the other that crashes your PC? Or anything when both drives are used?

If its just music and games that are crashing your PC (stuff with sound) then I would check your nforce mobo/sound drivers could be out of date (im assuming your using onboard sound), they released some rather poor ones a while ago.

Oh and check your jumper settings on your harddrives are set correctly.
