How can I go about improving system performance as well as gaming performance within Dark Age of Camelot?
Below are services that can be turned off/ disabled within Windows XP. They greatly improve system performance and use a lot less system resources. Please note, you should backup the registry before attempting this - instructions are below. Please use this at your own risk. Mythic Entertainment will not be held responsible for any harm done to your PC.
To take a snapshot of your computer system, go to Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Restore.
On this screen click create a restore point then click next. On the next screen it will ask you to type in a description of your restore point. Lastly, click on create, and it will save all of your windows settings. Once it has done this, please click on close. Your computer basic settings have now been stored. Please note, you should use the backup utility within Windows XP to completely backup your computer settings.
PLEASE NOTE, every user?s machine is different and although these settings have worked on in-house machines, they are not guaranteed to work on your PC. Please use careful judgment with this guide.
Where to begin: Click on the Windows start button, click on settings, click on control panel click on administrative tools and lastly double click on ?services?.
