Listen up, our Summer event, Baptism of Fire, has been booked and is set to GO GO GO !!!
It's going to be our next LAN and will be hosted on the 17th and 18th of August, (less than 2 months away) and will have capacity for 50 to 60 people. Read on!
We have an all new location !!!
Our new venue is the Wyllyotts Centre, 5 minutes from junction 24 on the M25 near Potters Bar, much much easier to get too than our previous events. Facilities onsite are absolutely superb. There is an onsite Cafe that will be open in the morning and afternoon and a Bar that will be open in the afternoon and evening - both of which charge standard rates. You will also be free to bring your own booze if you want to! There is ample parking for everyone, shops are literally round the corner and Potters bar station is only 2 minutes walk away for anyone who wanted to come by train. PLUS (and this is a big plus), there are showers onsite which will be available all day round. Because of the relatively short notice of this event, we could not book the largest room available, so we'll be limiting this event to 50-60, however, we'll be able to scale to 100 or so players for future events !!!
Tournaments & the Network
We will be organising tournaments prior to the event (no more "what do you fancy playing for this one") and should have our usual sponsors MS and EA onboard as well as a few others dishing out lots of cool prizes. We are also planning on upgrading to a 1 GIGABIT network to accommodate leechers and gamers at the same time (what's a LAN Party without a wee touch of file sharing, eh?). Watch THIS space for more on this stuff soon ...
Cost
Price for BoF will be £30 per person. Up a bit on our smaller events, but it'll be worth it and believe me, the venue, the network, the weekend, it's a steal at that price! Plus we'll have a special scheme for people who want to bring a Games Server along ... we'll be giving you money if you do !!! Find all the details on our website, HERE.
So what are you waiting on then? Get on over to www.hglan.co.uk and get booking!!! Remember, at HGLAN we won't be disabling file sharing, we'll have a 1 Gigabit backbone and the beer won't be extortionately priced; hell you can even bring your own into the event if you want too!
