Anyone heard anything else about this since the "we've had our code stolen because we know jack shit about securing a rather vital development network" debacle?

I just had a quick look on Amazon and they're still stating 2nd April 2004.

Anyone? :)

Nope, it would seem loads of places have next year as the release date.

Currently, Valve haven't confirmed anything. Vivendi are saying "We think it's April 2004, but it's ultimately Valve's decision".

So no-one really knows...

Vivendi actually retracted their April comment completely, saying that a date had not been confirmed. My money is on a X-Mas cash in of some kind, but they are running out of time.

I guess they could try releasing the Single Player pre-Christmas the Multiplayer via Steam only. Would make sense if the Multiplayer is the stuff that needs the most work done on it.

According to the ealks and info that came out with it, TF2 is going to be included as a bonus with hl2. Or something like that.

Oh good, I used to play TF Classic all the time..... And then DAOC came along and spoiled it all.

It'd be funny if this went the way of Duke Nukem: Forever though. :)

It's been proven that aliens stole the code, under the direction of Elvis.

Lies, it was JFK.

I've seen the E3 techdemo (demonstrated to me by an associate) running on a 9800 Pro / Athlon 2200+ and it's absolutely fantastic.
