Fireworks?

Just wondering, while all the banging is going on outside (oo-er).

Is anyone here, or has anyone here ever been, even slightly entertained by watching fireworks?

I just don't get it, even as a kid I didn't exactly find them fun.

I have kinda....

I was looking outside the other night and saw some teenagers setting them off across the road (which they always do), and one of them got burnt of something - ambulance called etc. I was entertained by that, which was indirectly caused by the firework.

I must be a kid at heart, I like a big firework display.

I really love the feeling of an enormous, fuck off, mortar going off nearby, the ones you can feel up through your feet.

The display in stockton was great, some good music albeit some fairly shite "live" singers, namely one from pop idol who was BLATENTLY miming, i mean the mic was going from 2 inches of her mouth to right next to it with no change in volume AND the voice was way to clean to be live.

But besides that the fireworks were impressive including one that make a bang with such bass it made the music playing skip. :)

Went to one at legoland recently, set to music and was good. Much better than just random explosions.

Was on the Thames for 1999 New Years.

Apart from the dismal wall of fire, I have never been so amazed at the display.

Truly was something I will never forget. The atmosphere, the sheer number of people, the concussion from the mortar rounds etc etc.

I love fireworks at organised displays.

It's absolutely pissing it down out here, so there's no eruptions of gunpowder around to deafen me all night.

Yay!

:D

Heh, seem the fireworks have stopped in my area anyway, should be able to rest easy tonight. :)

I enjoyed watching a good fireworks display....something that a lot of money and effort has been put into creating a good show.

I went to a Classical Music thing in the park a while back and they had fireworks at the end while playing a fantastic piece of Classical music which suited the fireworks....fantastic!

I was there too, filming it from a hotel room on the corner of Westminster Bridge, with the Eye to my right. Best view evah!

Best thing was, for literally 20 minutes work I got 3 days pay and a £500 bonus, all expenses paid!

Nah, he never goes above the Watford Gap mate.

Probably Hyde Park or some other gay cruising area.

I went to one a few years back at, I think it was Swanley. Might be wrong. Was really well synced to a classical orchestra. All displays should be to music imo, changes the whole mood.

Some of the big shows are pretty spectacular and well worth the money, but spending tonnes of £££ on a personal display has never really appealed too me :spin:

I used to go dpwn to the hauge and the beach next to the pier there for the international fireworks competition. Absolutley bally stunning, was great to go down there every night, sit on the beach and watch some perfectly choreographed displays for free. Pity i've had to move to the other side of the world now :( No fireworks out here

I went to a firework display in Victoria Park (East London) last Friday, themed on the Day of the Dead, I rather think it was a way of keeping the Halloween mischief makers off the streets.

They had a huge pyre about 4m high with a giant skeleton stuck on top, at the start it was pretty boring and "ethnic" with dancers and then they started letting off fireworks in and around the skeleton, which caught fire, as planned, and proceeded to ignite the rest of the pyre.

Then a really fantastic traditional firework display happened, it was very good, especially for a free entrance. But meanwhile the pyre was really hotting up and people were far too close, also unused fireworks inside it started going off sideways into the crowd.

It was distracting watching the pyre and the display above at the same time.

A few years ago they had another free display in Victoria Park with some French pyrotechnic wizard, he had cranes and a ferris wheel structure plus dozens of those hot air balloon flamers shooting up into the air, that was amazing.

I like the organised displays, preferably to music. "Home Consumer" fireworks are, imo, utterly p00. Unless you have those sparkley things and small kids to watch them :)

tried to set a big ass one off last nite, bit too windy the explody bit got caught in the wind and flew down to the ground and whistled and then exploded. I vowed never to use fireworks in the wind ever again :p

I arranged for a professional display for my wedding a few years ago. It cost about £1k and it was really worth it - just a nice way to end the whole day.
