admittedly i don't read the sun either but a few of me m8s do and all of us enter the competition and have side-bets between us

I thought you meant random as in, events/things that have no pattern(unless you count the random events/things a pattern) or as the good mirriam webster tells it:

Or even perhaps Random from the book The Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. Ford told Arthur something that summs this term of Random quite well:
