FAKE virus alert

once again some lame arses have spread out a fake virus alert.

this time it's a filed named J(something).exe it´s icon is a teddybear

if you get a mail stating that this file is a virus, tell the sender that it isn´t and send them this link

just had the mail from my uncle, he already deleted the file, poor guy

umm i think this came up at work about 3-4 months ago.. some deleted it b4 I found out it's a hoax.. i think the actual fle just covers for visiting activex type websites .. umm i think it's this 1 anyways.. not REALLY essential to the pc or OS operation afaik

the file is something to do with java scripting or indexing if i remember correctly. had a mate from college send me the mail - she had already told her entire family to remove the file from their different computers.


told her a million times about hoaxes, and sending me crappy junkmails and spams. then she totals 4 computers and asks me where she can find the file to replace. its different for each version of windows, i say. she says oh. probably still pissed off that i didnt leap to her aid

someone maybe haven´t, not all daoc players are geeks that hang around IRC I posted this after me mother received the email from my uncle who had already deleted the "teddybear" thought I´d warn others against it
