I watched 2 of those screenshots and they really really isn't looking good....

So what happened to "must have the best graphics possible!"?

Well it was made in 1996.

Well yeah, but weren't they delaying the game because they kept changing graphics engine all the time because they wanted the best graphics?

And tbh, if that were the best they could get..... Even back then that would have been pretty horrid looking.

Bit Confused that isn't the actual game, its what some modders have managed to do with the original Duke3D engine. The actual DNF looks pretty good, not top specs good, but what you would expect for a game like this.

After refreshing my memory a tad on it, Broussard, a former designer said.

“I think what hurt us the most was licensing engines and trying to change them too much. Shit happens and after delays the options are to continue or kill the game. I never wanted to kill the game. We got things turned around dramatically in 2007-2009, with a lot of new hires, and most of the game as it exists today was created in that timeframe.”

So it would appear they didn't keep changing the engine because they wanted to, but because they had to.

Just finished playing the demo, is fun to play, though I do agree with that vid, 2 weapon thing is not very fitting to Duke Nukem.

I've spent all day playing the full version of Duke Nukem. Absolutely wonderful, really took me back to my teens. Boobs, guns, aliens, it has it all.

Obviously I'm talking about the proper Duke game, and not that POS that's about to come out. I've spent the money refunded from my cancelled pre-order on something useful instead.
