I disagree - if you don't know it's the daleks then you don't know. The surprise comes whilst watching the episode.

I hate the "next week on" shit too...
The show is not like that you normally get a flash of the Dr fighting to monster of the week in the first 30 seconds of the show anyway. It is never like you were not going to see anything until the 40 minute mark. If either of you really think this has ruined then show then I am sorry but I also think you need to wash the sand out of your vaginas.

I'm not bothered. I saw the "next week" thing - and it annoyed the hell out of me at the time - but I understand Toht's point of view.

TV is so set up for retards nowadays. :(

I didn't know there were going to be Daleks next episode.
Next week if i didn't know, the Daleks would've been a suprise.
The episode would have been better; suspense, that "eeee!" little boy squeel when suddenly daleks.
Now the episode will be "Start -> so when are the daleks coming?"

Simple as that. There's no sandy vaginas, just that you affectively diminished the enjoyment of the next episode.

FFS me and Scouse are agreeing on something so it must be the truth of gods and science :p

Teasers are not as bad as reality TV that reminds people what happened before the adverts and tells them what's coming up after the adverts...

I would quite like something at the start of the show giving me a glimpse of what adverts will be on during the break, and then before the show returns a little sneak peak at the next ad break line up.

I thought it was shit.
The bit where the Dr was talking to the Darlek was so fucking cheesy and and I did not buy it at all. Maybe it is because I like him as Malcolm Tucker but he is so very very bad as the Dr. And Darleks again evern though this was a new way to show them was as expected tedious at best.

With Coleman leaveing I hope we find the truth about the Impossible Girl. And the only hope I have for the Dr is this moral dilema he has and the madness he showed in the first episode will devolop over the season.

I actually liked this one somewhat less than the first

Yeah, have to agree there. Feeled almost fillery and what we learned could've been done in a way better situation.

Fine enough episode, but it was just an episode. If that makes sense.

It was poor ... I wonder if the rebooted Dr Who is heading the same way as the original series?

Didn't like it either. Started OK but tailed off badly.

I still like him as a doctor tho. He's just the right amount of nasty.

Time for Jenna Coleman to fuck off tho.

Was just thinking/searching and couldn't find one, but does anyone remember if there's been an episode that involves someone trying to harvest the doctors brain/flesh/blood/timeywimeyjuice to do something?

I guess the easiest plot would be for someone to try and transfuse the doctors blood with person X so they gain immortality/regen/whatnot. (outside the whole doctors daughter bit)

(Yeah yeah, it would be sh*t etc etc. Get it out of your system :p)

Back in the original series the Daleks once forced (or thought they did, I can't recall if the Doctor tricked them in the end or not) the Doctor into giving a sample of his DNA (equivalent) in order to help them develop time travel (yes, some secret of it was apparently locked up inside Time Lord DNA).

Oh, cool. That's a worthy cause for a timeline then. Even if, bit, silly.

This episode was much better. The key is to keep the Dr and Clara apart they do not mesh at all. They really need to get him a new companion.

Just me that thought it was shit then. They're making it far too obvious that there will be an over arching storyline.
At this point I'd imagine it will be something like because Clara jumped into the Doctors time stream she has no true free will now and is just doing what she already knows she has to do or some shit like that, i.e. she knew just what to say to the Doctor because she'd already seen just what was said to the Doctor so she says just what needs to be said to the Doctor. A leads to B leads to C leads to A which is why she's the impossible girl and they'll do some cheesy shit like say it's "impossible" for her to remain his companion because she always knows what's coming.

I think you are right.
I think since they announced she is leaving at Christmas I think they are building to the resumption of the whole Impossible Girl storyline and she will phase out at Christmas the the new companion will come in. But it is for the best as they simply do not work which is a same because she is great.

Thought it had a promising start but went downhill quickly. Really going off Clara. Finding her really annoying. Like Mr Pink tho.

Really? Them having pops at each other's appearance was hilarious IMO.
I loved the way Clara and Smiths Dr played off each other they worked brilliantly and everything they said could have that sarcastic comedy behind it. With the new Doctor it seems forced and I do not think he plays that role well at all. I honestly do not think they work. I think she is great and I think he can be great but not in the way Smith was and not in the same way with Clara.

Meh. Like I said earlier - different doctor rather than better or worse doctor.

I like him as a doctor quite a lot. I think Clara's character is suffering because he's shining tbh - not because of anything she's doing wrong but more what he's doing right. The fact they're not particularly buddy buddy is refreshing tho. I like the fact that he's not remotely interested in boning her for once.

He's much more of a wildcard than the last couple of doctors. Shaping up interesting.

I think all the actors who play the Dr are very good. David Tennant stands out as the best for me. Even with ropey scripts his acting is pure class.

Capaldi is a superb actor, but everytime I see him, I just see Malcolm Tucker. It's unfair to typecast him, but that's who I see.

It just comes across as a bit lame for me. The FX are too BBC. But that's perhaps intentional. Its charm. A few episodes stand out, notably Blink, but I thought the recent one with the dinosaur to be pretty shit to be honest. I liked Vastra, but the alien who looks like a square poo was like something a 4 year old came up with.

Personally I prefer Torchwood.
