Well I guess it all comes down for what you are using it . I personaly have a 1h train ride to work and a 1h ride back, on witch i also have to lugg my laptop around aswell.
So when i went buying my mp3 player i had 4 choises

1) memory player, they are afordable but have not enough storage for my needs.
2)CD player, afordable and fairly big memory size
3) HD player, WAY to expensive
4) Sony MD/MP3 player, very nice equipment but comes with ungodly DRM so no chance of me buying that

I have a 2x128mb SD cards that are just for MP3s.

have a RIO 500 and love it to pieces, 64mb is just enough for me as I can never really decide on what songs to put on, besides, it would take too long to scroll thorugh all 4 gigs of my music if there was room
