Did a small Galla raid

Well i dont know what you think, but i'm going to tell you a small story about todays galla raid in SI. I find SI areas very very interesting and been exploring most of the places lately, doing all kinds of epic mobs, but i find Galla... well listen to this.

Meet up at 8 pm in necht, 2fg VGN and 1fg AeD + misc, get organised balanced groups going for holding aggro, took us about 20 minutes and we were on our way to explore galla. Thought lets do it with a few less this time we got nothing to loose. Anyways we head down there, starting mobs take around 1 minute to kill each with 3fgs, and then im not talking about random groups but tank heavy groups with all sort of dmg add buffs etc. By the way they drop a bag of coins wich is worth some coppers.

As we heading down to first mob, Oscalgar Geomancer we notice he is not there, why? Well he was killed 3 weeks ago and only way to get him spawn is to kill the final boss wich takes 120 people to do (No one killed this guy yet, yay). Anyways we think ok lets go to next mob maybe it spawned, Conservator, well nope he was not there and the only choice we had now was to kill the OEM (Organic Energy Mechanism), wich i heard takes 4+ fgs to bring down and is immune to all kind of melee. The reason we could nto go in any further is because of this guy opens a door further down wich was close at this point.

Allright we go back with the hope that we can scratch this guy (luckily he had spawned god knows why), first of all i tell a guildie to disband and single pull. It goes fine, we get 1-2 each time wich we manage to take down pretty fast (5 minutes each mob). Really becomes boring this, watching him pull slowly 1 mob and it drops a bag of coins. So i decieded to go up and pull some, this time grouped since i thought we were good groups and could handle all kinds of things here.

Well i pulled and it came 4 purps to me (everything is purp there) and wiped us out, someone managed to relog and after about 20 mins we were back on our feet again. We realised the only way to do this with 3fgs is to pull them 1 by 1, if more than 2 comes let the puller die, wich i did 5 times under this raid. And this with 0.2 to ding each pull about.

Ah well shit happens we go on pulling for 1 hour to clear out the spawns that are around this OEM. Finally managed to get to him and start whacking, was a nice battle, not like the ordinary legion but this guy was something special. He aoed and cast some kind of AF debuff, mezzed, stunned, all kidns of dirty tricks, i told everyone to spread out around him to not get hit by the aoe dd, and after about 20 minutes here we managed to nail this guy. And omg this is the best part, he dropped _a_ pair of valewalker gloves. At this point 2 hours have passed and ppl were all looking at me like this o_O.

Now OEM finally opened the gate so we could go deeper down and explore a bit and ppl were really bored of the place. We get down hacking and slashing spending 5-10 minutes on each pull resting and just being ready for next wipeout. Finally deciede to try Broodmother wich would be a nice challenge and is the closest mob to reach to. At this point its very late and usually people that i play with log and some people went died and went ld so we were not really many left. Anyways we kill 1 of the spiders and guess what, after about 60 mobs 1 of them drops a pair of scale gloves for us, (gloves are cheapest to make arent tehy? our luck i guess), warden gloves with pretty nice stats, ok well. We did not manage to get down to Broodmoother cause it was like 20 more mobs to clear out and we simply did nto have time or the willpower to do it

All in all i just wanted to write my opinion about galladoria, i think its a realyl really nice place with nice grafix, but if you want a challenge and want to organise some guild hunt, this would be far from fun imo. The only thing you can do here is ZERG the whole damn place, rather spend time soloing mobs and buy some SCed stuff for it, the things that drop here are not worth it. When i say worth it you have to think about getting 10fgs and doing going through it all.

Well dont know if any of you read through this story but if you did thanks i guess :)

Loot is supposed to be improved next patch. I've been thinking about it, and raiding before next patch seems abit pointless yes.

I believe that Aloon can be done with 10 - 12fg. Maybe not on this server tho, since noone ever listens. (I'm willing to give it a go when next patch goes live)

The Primals are another story. I think it will be along time before Exca manages to kill those ...

[edit] Invite-raids are the only way to go imo. Free for all are just ... chaos. More trouble than its worth and you end up with /release.

apparently one of the primals can only be killed by gtaoe - and we are just bursting from the seams with void elds in hib 0_o

primals are based on base classes as far as i know.

one is weak to guardians, one to stalkers, one to naturalists and one to Magicians.

Could be wrong tho :)

I think Galladoria is kind of unfinished. The drops are way way way too few, and stats on them kind of suck atm ( stats get upgraded next patch, dunno about drop-rate/ammount).
The mobs have the same boring skind that you have allready seen after 30 mins in Domnann, just a bigger size, but after spending 4 levels doing sporite kill-tasks seeing a sporite as first mob in Galla really made my day.
On the other hand the named mobs really seem to have some special KI, they take more than then usual zerging to kill them, and they are a challenge. On top of that the whole dungeon really looks nice, even though it is a tree ( wth is the hibernian epic dungeon a tree ? when we first got there all rangers in group disbanded and ran back to Necht screaming "No more greenbarks!!!").
atm the place is lacking long-term motivation. You will enter a place in this game only a few times for its good looks, but with decent drops people will go there over and over again.

Epic Dungeon Item Notes

The second pass through the epic dungeons is done. The following changes were made to improve the risk vs. reward in Caer Sidi, Tuscarian caves, and Galadoria.

- The class set armor pieces are now all level 51.

- The reactive procs on those pieces were upgraded.

- Many items received increased bonuses.

got to say i agree with T... The drops in that place are really pretty crap compared to the effort needed to kill things in there...

Dont get me wrong theres some sweet stuff in there but atm galldoria is just to buggy to make it worth raiding it...

Most of the mobs are similiar to legion in toughness.. but when you drop legion you get 4 gr8 drops and 6 reasonable ones... you drop one of these gall mobs and you usually get 1 reasonable to good drop... its just not worth the effort at the moment....

On these big raids where you need at least 5-7 fg you need to stockpile at least 30 drops to distribute to the troops or people just dont bother coming as theres little chance of getting anything even half decent....

Its also shocking they could go live with these epic dungeons and the final encounter doesnt even work... dont they test this shit???

nevermind though some bugs work in our favour... go farm balor b4 he gets uberfied!!!

that raid was erm odd, the mobs should jsut have a fecking proper respawn timer, not mobs that u gotta kill an unkillable mob to get a repop.

Aw thanks aussie/lessurl :)

Thought it was a bit too long but, anyways galla is a great place. Not sure though what mythic thought about the risk/reward when they did this.

Sounds like a good place (not been yet) but even if u got 2-3 drops per big mob that would be fair.

Nice story :)

great story, unfortunatly u'r right, but personally i think 6 fg can take most of the stuff in there if they are willing to listen, and yes the primals are class effective, and as far as i know the mage ones a bugger.. the stealther one is held by ns and shot at by rangers, and well the rest is pretty self explanitory. but effectivly u dont need to go for the primals to get a laugh in there, everything that drops in there is 100% quality, and will be upgraded to lvl 51 next patch.

http://www.javamansworld.com/daoc/

this gets updated occasionally when the american servers go to Galla more and more, and as u can see theres some sweet stuff dropped. Although its not 100% worth it sometimes it could still be worth a look see every so often as long as peeps are willing to listen.

Btw this link has maps of all dungeons, but only drop lists from galla.......

Indeed, I too was there last night, and although the groups all worked well together and put a lot of effort into their time there - we only ended up with 2 drops between 24ish peeps for all our effort.

I personally came out of it with about 0.1 of a bub XP and ... wait for it... 4g of money! not even enough to buy my health back after we got wiped :(

The place looks nice, (just dont fall through the buggy walls - be careful standing on the wall roots) but give me legion anytime.

I aggree with Tyka about that takes too long time to form proper grps for these raids....

kk...as Tyka said u can take some SCed items and get better stats but as u know SCer cant make jewls and this dungeon has very very nice jewls (i mean stats) if this web site is correct...

http://www.javamansworld.com/daoc/accessories.html

If u get these jewls u realy save many pts from ur SCed armor....as u know u cant have evrything caped only with SCed armor set and weapon.....

So...at the end i think if u know where these items droped ...it worth the time...the arguments (most times exist in raids unfortunately :( ).....and the formation of the grps.....

I think there are too mnay "newbies" in Hibernia atm to be able to do a FULL, and successful raid in Galladoria. People dont listen to instructions from the raid leader, run off and get everyone wiped.
Big shame really, as there are some very nice drops to be had in there.
Bit like Dragon raids I suppose.

Maybe when we get 1.60 and the dungeon has had a few fixes, I may run some raid, on invite only basis.

I think the whole dungeon (apart from final encounter) can be done with 6-8fg.
People need to realise this isnt like killing Legion, the mobs in here are VERY hard, and its not a place to tag on a raid and leech xp, and arse about, running ahead trying to get more seals for your group.

I think its only the primals earthmenders (healers) that are class specific and the actual primals themselves are killable by any class.

Yeah Galla sucks, and I wont be going there again til after 1.60 and hope the drop rate changes.

Legion raids give better drops overall I think, like a few hauberks, ebop etc.

Dunno where you have read or heard that...

Here is the tactice from Javaman.
All the mobs listed on the chart are Guards! Not sure what the boss is called cause I've never
heard of anyone getting to him. But, here's what we've learned so far. Once you cross the water
to the southernmost room stay on the beachhead and use a puller to get the mobs in the hallway.
DO NOT go any farther or you'll be ported into the southern room and die a very sick and noisy
death.

THE ROOM:
Going up the hallway will port you into the center room. The water on the edges will nuke you for 300 dmg per tic so swim for the edge and get into the center.

THE GUARDS:
Earthmenders:
These mobs chain insta-heal the Primals so they MUST be killed first. ONLY guardian classes (Hero/Champ/BM) can attack the Guardian Earthmender! If any other class hits it in mele or with a pet/spell it will insta-heal to full! The same goes for the Shadowy / Magical / Natural Earthmenders. NO PETS in this area or anytime after you begin the swim over. This is very important! One pet will destroy the raid!

Primals:
Earth / Wind / Fire / Water these guys pop over time with the Earth being in the room when you enter. He will go from person to person while you kill the Earthmenders and just pound you. Get the Earthmenders down quick and ignore this guy for now. Wait for the Water Primal to pop, should be about the same time you kill off the Earthmenders if you're quick, then EVERYONE get on him. Kill the Water Primal first. Now while this is going on the Air Primal will be AOE stunning and blowing people into the water. Just swim out and get back in the fight. OK thats the easy part. Every 9 minutes the Fire Primal will fly over and drop little flames everywhere (turn effects to ALL to see them). If you step on these they will set off an AOE nuke for around 2000-3000 dmg if you have full resists! The Primals may have to be killed in order, not sure yet. If they do we killed the Water first and damaged the Earth next. Thats as far as we've got but we're goin back in tonight so I'll keep you posted :D Good Hunting!
