You can buy it from Game for a fiver...you get Oh No, More Lemmings too, though you need to adjust your screen res yourself to play....its just not possible to play at 1600x1200, they go all microscopic.

Is it ilegal to download sega megadrive games? (since they no longer create them or sell brand new ones)

Yes, it is. Once a game is over a certain age, it is called abandonware, and normally becomes available for download. However, this is a legal grey area itself. Megadrive games aren't old enough, and since Lemmings is still available to buy, the game doesn't fall into that category.

Thats like say a DVD of Mickey Mouse is a different cartoon from the VHS version. The same person holds the rights to the "lemmings concept" for every version.

Imagine that, a law which gives you the right to make money out of an idea you had...

However, there is a legally defined cutoff point for the IP (intellectual property) rights holder to be able to claim. I think it currently stands at 50 years in the UK, and 75 years in the US (where Disney recently had it increased because Mickey was about to enter the public domain). However, old software doesn't have anyone chasing it up (who is going to sue over Manic Miner being available to download?), hence the rather grey Abandonware scene. Its technically illegal, but the rights holder doesn't care.

I had a point...I think it was that Disney are bad...but I got a little sidetracked.

But can you remote link to an image of Mickey which you're hosting yourself?

Probably not.

It is actually illegal to hire a purple dinosaur suit in the US, thanks to Barney. How crazy is that?

I was more impressed at the pure technical genius of being able to make it in pure DHTML. But i'm glad you enjoyed ;)

Sorry, DHTML Lemmings has moved...
It was taken too much bandwidth to host it here any longer; this page will redirect you to the current location in 5 seconds.
Click here if you can't wait that long or when your browser is giving you the middle-finger

What have you lot done!

Actually at the speed it loads it would be quicker if I walked 3 miles to town, puchased it from GAME and walked back.

I don't have time for this! I'm at work for christ sakes!
