Surely there are more constructive ways of going about this then swinging your handbag and going for the gnashing teeth attack? Tilda is new to doing this, and is doing this voluntarily, so maybe instead of rising up peasant style and dragging along your own ACME gilloutine, maybe we can try some more diplomatic means first?

If you feel the modding is a little strong, then by all means say, but not ideally in this format. Many different forums have different styles, and lord knows Barrysworld is hardly typical. Its not so much a case of finding your feet, but finding them before someone sets fire to them then someone else accuses you of attention seeking for being "so blatantly in flames". Or just accuses you of being a "cox0r", depending on their 1337 status.

You can't please all the people all the time, and whilst some people may complain about heavier moderation, equally we have received complaints in the past about the lack of heavy moderating. Its all to do with finding a balance. Which is where *feedback* _not_ *lynch mobs* come in handy. A subtle yet important difference.

So if people can continue this thread in a nice civilised way, we can find out what changes you would like, and what we can do to help that.

Close and edit threads selling accounts/ advertising.

Occasionally edit posts if they are very, very wrong but tell us what was once there in nice, friendly way and why it has happened.

If a thread is off topic but very old, just close it and let it die. Don't move it here because we WILL devour it.

That's all a Mod should do to be honest, I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure people want to be able to read and contribute to peoples posts before they get locked down.

Well, I am not a friend of endless back and forth PM 'we have a problem' discussions - if I have a point to make I will do that... not everyone can deal with that but I think it's at least honest.
;)

When Tilda started closing threads left and right (and I am not talking about "How to hack someone's account" or "i aer hav a l50 mistrel on ebay 2 sell wanna buy?" threads), I subtly *coughs* hinted that doing so wasn't really good style...

In vain... so I got the Big Bertha.

Surely there are some intermediate stages between subtlety and pictures of nazis and demands of culling? Possibly? Though the thought of you attempting subtlety itself has me chuckling... I have an image of the wolf in granma's clothing doing small talk, and his mouth blistering as he tries...

what should be done then? edit the thread? leave it? tell them not to use Nazi?

Is nazi actually a constructive term or is to just a painful insult, especially to those who died in WW2.
Im sure you know about that so im not going to write about it, but for people who are from Germany (not me btw) and those who knew people who died in the war its still rather a sore subject.
So what should i do?

About the link i deleted, that was _not_ micky/mini mouse, when i looked at it, it was a porn site, and, correct me in im wrong, people arnt supposed to post that.

I dont believe I have closed threads "left right and centre" but your entitled to your oppinion.

As Damini said, im still trying to find my feet, believe it or not im new to modding so all suggestions are welcome.

You mods ever tried giving a couple of people say a weeks trial, one after another before jumping to the conclusion that someone is better suited to the job than another?

Is that even possible? This is said in the nicest way but what you are doing here is giving people power over something we all enjoy, some people are able to handle it some people are not.

That isn't directed at anybody btw, it's just an observation.

To be honest... I didn't have the best opinion of you, lets be blunt, before - playing uber-mod now doesn't make it any better.

And, it depends in which context the word nazi was used.

Someone saying 'Stop modding pictures of bunny rabbits, you big ol' nazi ;)' and someone saying 'Fuck off u fucking nazi cunt' can hardly get the same treatment.

In the first example nothing should be done, as it is just a word being thrown lightly around, but in the latter example a post edit is in need :)

That's all for example, of course.

And, if I am not mistaken, Damini was doing a fine and dandy job of our little OT forum, before Mrs. 'I-Got-The-Mod-Job-Because-I-Aer-Ekcawibur' moved in.

So, to be blunt:

Bog off. Please.
