what's your fave book to film (or film to book), or even worse comic-to-film, or *horrors* game-to-comic-to-film convertion?

streetfighter film = ololol

Film adaptation of American Psycho was pathetic, and should be banned for taking one of the best books ever written and converting it into commercial shit.

Mortal Kombat was on TV last night, always good for a laugh.

I watched bicentennial man on tv yesterday. Azimov's book is seriously better.
I thought Mortal Kombat was a pile of goat shite tbh :)

hmm...good one mr tdc.

Er 1984 springs to mind, there's probably billions more but its near the end of another hard day at work...lol ;).

I never managed to see the low budget film version of Complicity, the Iain Banks novel. All I remember is that it has Jonny Lee Miller or wtf his name is in it. Enjoyed the book, worried the film will just look like a Sunday evening crap detective TV show.

off-topic: a work colleague just coughed so much they passed out next to me, hence my post being delayed by 1 min. Larks!

2001 maybe.

Mortal Kombat was utter fucking turd. I agree about the American Psycho conversion though... what toss that film was, the book was half decent.

Probably Dune, the film was great, even if it didnt stick to the book.

Green Mile, fantastic adaptation of a great book by the master ;)

On a Stephen King note, the worse conversion has to Running Man, boy if you've read the book you would be hard pressed to find a single common denominator.

Dune film was great, as was the Green Mile.

Captain Correli's Mandolin was ok, if it wasnt faithful to the book. Diddnt quite manage to convey the same emotions and feelings, finished reading it again last night and I find the last few pages very poignant

James Bond Films were good adaptations...

It's just a pity Sean Connery played Bond as he did. Bond wasn't much like that at all, and the Bond actors who have since stayed truer to the character get dissed because an old Scottish fagot got the job first.

Complicity was so dire it caused me and Kenny to have a major argument watching it, we stopped talking for ages and whenever I try to rent a film since I always get reminded how shit my taste in films is, and that's used as a reference point.

Blade Runner.

The film was better imo, the book was very strange.
