Thats not too bad a landing, I've been on nearly 100 flights, and if you've ever been on a plane thats landing and powersliding at the same time, THAT will shit you up.

It is a bad landing considering it wasn't supposed to have been making such a tight turn, but due to traffic on the runway, the tower instructed him to make a wide turn and S-curve onto it.

Best landing I had was coming back from Holland, the plane touched the runway and was hit by a crosswind, we bounced off the runway twice, then the right wing nearly hit the runway (looked about 1 meter from tarmac although it obviously wasnt) so I can only guess one side of the plane hadn't touched down yet. Then the pilot put the engines to full reverse and everyone was thrown forward in their seat (some screamed for some reason).

I think the pilot was coming in to fast because we only just stopped at the end of the runway (missed our turning). My dad (who was picking me up) said that he could hear the engines screaming and that he see the plane was swept sideways on the first bounce.

I have seen many dodgy landings myself at work, would be good to have got them on film, but you cant film every landing.

I find a flight boring unless there is a bit of turbulence or some excitement on landing, best place to sit is at the back of a plane, you feel all the bumps and drops there :).

As the saying goes, any landing you walk away from is a good one :D

I recall landing at Hong Kong's old airport, and waving to the office workers in the tower block as I passed them by.

The old HK runway extended into the bay, about a week after I was there a plane overshot and nearly sunk.

Im flying to Hong Kong next week and i wish they hadnt closed that airport. I would have loved to land there.

Have a look here if youve never seen any pictures. I like this one.

SLightly off topic...

I don't know if Virgin still use that knackered old 747 on their Gatwick - Newark run, but it's the scariest plane this side of Aeroflot!

I've been on it twice when it's had to land faster than usual due to flaps not coming all the way out.

When the captain said that the landing "May be a touch harsh" he wasn't kidding.. it was like being smacked in the backside with a baseball bat... and all the overhead lockers sprung open as well.

The second time was the worst as I knew what was coming

That was one reason why I stopped flying to the US on a Sunday. Flying on a Monday means one can sit on Continental's shiny new 777 (Virgin's partner).
