Zerker nerf inc?

- Addressing Midgard's Left Axe style/endurance regeneration combination, which leads to Berserkers and Shadowzerks doing more damage than they would normally be able to.


judging from my earlier experience with mythic´s ways of "adressing" things they usually nerf it to #¤%%.


Anyone know if this is a nerf to count on?

I was planning to roll a zerk for PvE, will a warrior be a better choice?

I think mythic wrote that they will nerf Leftaxe combined with endregen, dunno exactly in what way tho....

Cant agree more with soruzis comment...

Ppl who dont even have 50 lvl char and no rvr experience comes stating their xpert opinions, one of most annoying things.

I cannot agree with yours...

The post topic was whether or not the Zerker class was going to be nerfed. Why must a person be Lvl 50 to have an opinion on this? Anyone who has a Zerker, or who has had one in the past is entitled to comment IMO.

After all, the nerf if it does come affects all Zerkers, not just the Lvl 50 ones...

Don't really takes a genius to see the dmg of zerkers on screenhots.

Sure that are 'random high dmg'-shots which are rare, but it can be me, but I never see:

a) A pole-arm armsman hit a lvl 50 thane for over 900

b) A theurgist accidentally nuke for over 850 on a yellow-con

There is a huge difference in raw damage and raw capable damage of a zerker compared to anything else.

Hell, Soruzi hits harder on some screenshots then PBAoE does on an average opponent.

2-3 shotting plate-tanks is out of balance.

I already hear them say 'Yes, but I was dex/qui debuffed, that's why I hit so hard on those screenies'...

Hear what you're saying: I was DEBUFFED, that's why I hit HARDER. Can be me, but there is something wrong with that too.

Debuff quickness = slower hits = more damage thats all

Nerfs are crap, and there is nothing worse than seeing a char you have invested alot of time in totally gutted.

I had not long dinged 50 with my cleric back in June when the smite nerf was announced. Whether or not you agreed with the nerf the one thing it did was destroy a particular playstyle and force either a /quit or /reroll. Nerfs are not good.

The 'balancing' of LA/endo is quite a complex task for either/both will have an impact in other areas. Nerf LA and you hurt PvE for those without endo and nerf endo and you hurt other melee classes. At least Mythic now seem to be a bit more conservative rather than the wholesale slaughter of the past.

I would make endo a chant and give it to skalds. That would give a reason to have 2 skalds in a gp. Then compensate the Shaman by giving them something meatier in the Mend line. Dunno.

That still leaves LA. The problem is huge damage from perma-styling and that would still be possible with the endo chant so LA damage needs to be addressed. Perhaps one option would be to leave damage/style bonus as it is but increase the downside of Vendo...i.e. lower resists and suspend RA's. Just an idea.

I hate Zerkers :) but also hate seeing any class get gutted.

Guy was 4X merc if u didnt notice and zerkers came on table cause they did too much damage on mobs at PvE ?

Removing the End Regen from the Shaman would be the single biggest way to screw over everyone with Shamans as BBs...

Sure, they'd still have great buffs and the damage add, but it's the end regen that makes them worthwhile buying another account for.

I really hope they *do not* do this...

Things that counts,

zerker fully buffed?
armshaving boofs? any AF boofs, very underrated buff btw.
STR relics status?

Im playing arms and with decent boofs np with buffed zerkers. When zerkers rat they get huge damage cause half AF, no defences and pulls all attention of enemies.

"Any" class can be pwned with fully buffed and decently played "Any" class.

Casters have range...and can hit unlimited amount of ppl.

Let me break it to you - zerks are supposed to be the most dmg meleer IN THE GAME !!!
Studded armor, no shieldspec, no stun/snarestyles (comback/frosty doesn't count) wtf except dmg can they do ?
If you expect a class that have plate and shieldspec42 to do as much dmg as a zerk, then wtf would be the point in makin a zerk ?
Btw, i´m sure if all albtanks had lowest possible quick they would have pretty good dmg/hit.....

My so called 'uberstyle' doublefrost is capped at 553dmg mainhand (with 35quick)......

they dont 1/2 their AF....

they just can't parry/evade

1. Studded+evade3 = Chain + evade 1 so no disadvantage

2. No shieldspec = shield spec on a DW class

3. From the mouth of the Game Designer 'DW is supposed to do as much damage as LA'

As I stated before, I don't like nerfs but something has to done, and making DW/CDW work as intended would result in more nerf calls. I am afraid this one is needed and necessary but I hope it is handled well.

As I stated before, I don't like nerfs but something has to done, and making DW/CDW work as intended would result in more nerf calls. I am afraid this one is needed and necessary but I hope it is handled well.

No, let me break it to YOU:

Clotharmour, no shieldspec, meeting 50+ % resists, less then 50% of your hitpoints, no evade/parry.

If there is 1 class which should do uber-dmg it's a goddamn caster. I got a DD209 delve nuke, with MoM2 that is a DD221 (higher then anything in the whole game), I got WP3 and I often need like 8-10 nukes to bring down a tank. Tanks got (cheap) IP, I don't have that. Tanks can increase their resistance to CC, I cannot. Tanks get cheap Purge, I don't. Tanks can buy RA's to decrease magic-dmg, I cannot decrease melee-resists with cheap RA's like 'Avoidence of Beating' or something.

To counter this, I got 1 (very) huge advantage: I got range. Oh yes. Every half-smart player has a DD range 1500 CHARGE on something (weapon, jewel, whatever). You run towards me, interrupt me with a charge and the ONLY thing I can do is QC-CC.

How the hell am I supposed to be the huge-dmg dealer now huh?! If you 2-shot me while it takes me on avg. 8 nukes to kill you (16 with IP used on you)

No, I expect do AT LEAST the same amount of dmg you do in time. Yes that's right. I am so fragile, so easy to interrupt, I wanna see numbers on my dmg comparable to yours. If that involves giving me a boost or giving you a nerf, I choose the latter one. The longer a combat takes, the more fun it is (to me)

Taking screenshots from Sorusi he caps alot higher on dmg, hell he hits even-con opponents with good resists for higher.

My damage-cap on a grey is 666, max crit is 332 (50% -1), so max dmg is 998 in RvR for me. ON A GREYCON, with the best crit possible.

You see the 'slight' problem casters nowadays have? I bet there a casters nowadays who cannot kill tanks (who use IP/mooze) without running OOM.

Last point: I am a pure DD-nuker, I can only hit 1 person at the time.

You think a caster with a stick waving his hands doesn't pull attention?!

At least a zerker can get 4000+ hitpoints (when he uses IP), that is his defense. Show me the defense of a caster. CC? No, they give tanks purge for 20 mins RvR.

Maybe endbuff is a good thing for grouped shamans.
but for bb owners its just perm sprint to amg if your solo, and if your grouped you wouldn't wanna run back to mtk(or whereever you bb is parked) and get a new endbuff every 10 mins, would you?

BUFFbots are mainly for the buffs..

1. Not everyone is buffed with shaman+healer resistbuffs... me for example are without em most of the time...
2. sprint away from me and ask one of your buddies to SLAM me
3. Ppl whine about our 'uber-anytimestyle-doublefrost' thats why i took that as an example, snowsquall/icy is ofcourse higher, but zerks only spam doublefrost or ?
4. Aviodance of beating, u need that RA u say, your friend-cleric have it alrdy, its called BOF (30min, same as Purge for me)


bottom line is, stop whining cuz we all get ganked, ask me how I feel about beating on a keepdoor while being nuked by 1 necro and 1 cabalist ?
How do I feel about being mezzed (I purge), then get stunned by a mistrel then PA/CD by an infil ?

Just cuz I get ganked badly i don't go around crying for nerfs, instead i try to accept the way things are and make the best of it :)

thats the point, zerekrs sacrifice defense for offence, the way classes should be.

oh and btw, casters have 1.5 cast speed (if they are not gimped, and the hard cap is bugged so dont come with that..) and most good ones nuke for ~250 - 300 on me (32 resists, or more on the racial resists..)

now i hit 3.5 delay, so they get 2 nukes, they can do ~500 in that time, perhaps 600, but thing is, they can also dropp off ~5 - 6 nukes before i reach them, wich means ~1500 - 1800 dmg, exluding crits....

now with teamplay, body sorc debuffing heat for example, or rc runie debuffing cold for dark rms.. casters can do insane dmg.. and this is a team game so you should try make those grps...

Im more a tank than a zerker, with Chain and Shieldspec, i pay like 14points for the IP, + FA1/FA2.
Purge costs me 10 points, im RR4L6 and the only RA's i have cept to IP and Purge is toughness, AoM, and Aug. Con.
I do crap damage on every tank there is(if 150 isnt 00000ber)

Well as I am about as far from big boys RvR as it's possible to get, your comment does not apply to me. I accept however, that it may do to others with Lvl 50 chars.

I would just say that it annoys me immensely that everyone always mentions RvR whenever this sort of discussion arises - FFS, not everyone is interested in RvR!! It may come as a surprise to some, but you can play there chars in PvE as well!

All nerfing is going to do is slow down the level advancement of those lowbies like myself...which perhaps ultimately is what the whining Albs want...
