Well I've a Ikkle Luri Ranger and would like to know what a decent spec for me would be

Ideas on going for BG1 at 1st then onto Real RvR.

A good spec or a range of specs would be nice as this is also for a m8 aswell.

Ta muchly in Advance.

Well sorry this is alittle vague but I can't be bothered to work out the actual spec points.

High bow, highish path, low pierce, 1 CD and mediocre stealth I think should see you right m8.

Not sure how it works exactly in BG1 as I missed it and was only able to join in the later half of BG2 but my spec followed pretty much the above rules.

Aye, speccing bow higher gives more damage, just like speccing piercing, for example, would give you a higher damage output if you are using piercing weps.
My own spec, which has changed several times, but I hope is now set is:

Stealth 30
Pierce 39
PF 36
Bow 40
CD 22

put the figures into the Catacombs character builder and see what you think.

Bow skill is you're damage, make sure you have it equal to lvl (with bonuses). CD...well I wouldn't bother to put any points in that, rather go high blade/pierce, high PF, low stealth.

And btw get a crafted 100% qua bow, that makes you're char 10 times better

Will have to convice Darran to spend money on a bow from a crafter instead of Firby toys ;)

Hows this sound then. (after playing on Catocombs Char builder)

Stealth - 30
Pierce - 39
Path - 42
Bow - 40
CD - 4 <--- Left over points

sounds like a pretty nice spec ;)
I would rather go blade than pierce though...

I have just respecced for pure Scouting and taking out orange cons.

Spec at mo is:

Recurve 36
Stealth 24
Path 25
Pierce 3
Blade 3
Cd 2

Im a lvl 36 Ranger and I vary rarley have to melee as the dmg output when bow is equal to lvl is nice. I hit orangecons for 250+ on crit and 100+ on normal. Seems to work ok at the mo.

The best sugestion is to play to yourown personall strengths IE I enjoy the hide and ambush play.

Hope you find the spec you enjoy most and good Luck :)

I missed out on BGs so dont really know what spec is best for there but I do know the days of the 'uber solo ranger' are now over.

If you venture into any of the frontiers an assassin will find you no matter what your stealth is as soon as you have killed your first enemy.

With this in mind my spec at 50 will be:
Bow - 39
Pierce - 39 (cos im a Luri and its dex/strength)
Pathfinding - 46 (for that last damage add, great when meleeing)
CD - 25
Stealth - 5

So far, at lvl 47.5 with 39 bow, 34 pierce, 46 pf and 16 CD, I am finding it much easier in RvR and PvE is a breeze, oranges no problems.
You will get lots of people telling you to get stealth to mid 20s and above but its pointless imho.
All I can suggest is you spec how you want to, do your own thing and you only have yourself to blame ;)

My advice - delete and re-roll a NS.
My level 50 spec was 30 blades 50 bow 35 Stealth, 34 Path 10 CD for whatever that's worth. And the my signature should say retired. doh
