You can download the blood patch from bf1942match.com. I was just after more gore in the game ( which it does help to provide) but also the best feature for the patch is you can tell if you have hit someone from a distance (sniping for example), so you should all rush off and download it, its only a small file and well worth it.




p.s. I was playing of an EAUK server today, 50 man server ,full and it was pretty much lag free ,will wonders never cease

You could also try the Merciless BF modification. That adds the blood plus a few other little bits, nothing cheaty and nothing that messes up BF so it's easy to remove if you don't like it. One nice touch is redone map loading screens that provide a map, one from the single player briefings, what teams there are, vehicals available and a bit of historic background. Very professionally done too, except for the one grammar error I spotted but it's a small thing.

After a hard days solid testing of the blood patch, i can confirm that it makes sniping so much better. You can see where you hit them, and helps for leading shots against moving targets, I hit a guys parachuting out of the sky for gods sake

At least if it's set in present day or the future then vehicles are more likely to be equipped with personal teleportation devices.

Perhaps they wanted to incorporate the Philadelphia Experiment without unbalancing the game too much (can't have ships teleporting into enemy bases for instance). So instead they decided to give all vehicles the limited teleportion abilities, especially on large maps and during periods of intense fighting.
